It would never happen for countless reasons but I'd go for Rafael. He's proven in numerous leagues winning many domestic cups.

Proven in La Liga as well along side four European honours. He'd attract some top notch players and most all it would incite those lot over there!

Won't ever happen though...

Not quite there yet. Roberto has until the end of the season to address the obvious flaws in his philosophy for me. No improvement by the end of the season I would go Eddie Howe.

Literally all of those were signed from clubs lower on the football totem poll than Everton. The only arguable exception being Pienaar from Dortmund, though he was out of favour there.

We signed Lukaku and Deulofeu from Barcelona and Chelsea at a time when both sides were dominant, at a time when both players had their whole careers ahead of them. As signings they are in a completely different league to anything Moyes pulled off. I don't know how anyone could argue against that.

That's because our transfer budget is now in a different league to when Moyes was manager. Martinez would never have been able to sign Lukaku with Moyes' budget.

Both Moyes and Martinez have done well with player recruitment, but I don't think these players were signing just because they were in love with Martinez, they came because we are Everton and offer salaries of millions of pounds per year. When Martinez returns to where he belongs at a club like Wigan, he won't have a chance in hell of signing someone like Lukaku.

do you actually want martinez out now and who do you want?

for realz please

i think we should probably get rid at the end of the season, if we fail to finish in the top half, 2 bottom half finishes with this squad of players is criminal.

For 2 years we have been utter pants, I think its unrealistic to expect him to get better anytime soon, the same mistakes are being made week in week out, so yes, I think its probably for the best if we get rid.

For me hes had 3 massive games in his time here, the Arsenal game which we won at a canter, the Kiev game where we got utterly smashed and last night.

Im struggling to look at positives, yes hes built a wonderful squad, but hes driving a bentley with all the tyres down.

Nice guys finish last, the most successful managers in the league have all been utter arseholes.

My first choice would be Jose, a short term risk and probably very, very unrealistic, I doubt he would come to be honest.

A realistic target would be Vitor, but that again would be a massive risk and he strikes me as a bit of a whore.

So I honestly dont know, truthfully.

I went for De Boer as i believe he is the kind of manager who could get the most out of this squad. i dont really know a lot of the foreign managers being suggested, but i agree about Benitez' qualifications. he is a very, very good manager, but i wouldnt ask him purely because of the commotion from the RS if he blew us out (and he probably would)! I am a big fan of Eddie Howe, but I think it would be too soon for him. So De Boer from the list given, or alternatively try for Jose on the promise that his job title would be 'exhalted god of all things, prodigiously endowed'. that should get him to consider us ;)

The fella has spent 40m so far on players this season, granted the starting squad is utter grim, but lets not pretend hes been living off scraps.
His spend in the summer was 18mil. He had them where they are with a total squad worth around 40 mil.
The additional 16 or so he's spent this window haven't added any value to the squad yet so shouldn't be counted for or against their standing.

Not convinced on this Favre bloke, sure he revived Monchengladbach but never won a thing with them, he's only had success in his homeland which really outside of Basel and Zurich doesn't have much in the way of quality standard
