Favre did the double over Bayern, and it's not a "One-horse race", it's a very competitive league full of quality. Remember that Bayern are one of the best teams in the world, and even they get beat from time to time.

I like Favre but a pattern of his is doing well for a couple of seasons and then leaves or gets sacked having lost a string of games on the bounce at the start of a season. Not sure what the reason for that is whether its his personality or fitness methods or whatever

That's what I like about Favre. Players like Ter Stegen, Xhaka and Dahoud made their debut under him.

After losing Reus, Dante and Neustädter, Favre replaced them with Luuk de Jong, Alvaro Dominguez and Granit Xhaka. Not exactly what you'd call shrewd business. Especially de Jong was complete scheisse.

Bayern and Dortmund have shared the last 7 titles (5,2).

Third place finished 28(!) points behind Bayern this season.

Let's not forget, in a woeful season for us we beat their Champions League finishing team Wolfsburg twice, thrashing them in one of them games.

It is a poor league with one outstanding team and one good team.

That's a good shout. No doubt that de Jong didn't perform in Germany, don't know much about Dominguez. Xhaka on the other hand is one of the most sought after midfielder and the rumour is that Arsenal made a 33 Mio bid for him.
My point was that Favre managed to develop some top players.

This is true but the Eredivisie is a darn site poorer.

I'm a bit afraid to put this out there, but am I the only one who would take LVG if United let him go?

He has his older age working against him, but I really don't think he'd be a bad addition to the list. I think a lot of the fuss is from United supporters still thinking they have a title winning team.

Ferguson left the squad a mess and Moyes did little to rebuild it. LVG seems to be doing a great job building an up and coming team. I just think too many United supporters have this complex that they deserve to be fighting for the title every single season. In my opinion, considering how young their squad is, they finished right about where I'd expect them to be able to finish.

I think he'd be a good manager, and one who supports youth development on top of it all.

He has said he is retiring anyrate.

And no.

Forget about de Boer, forget about Mourinho, forget about Moyes, forget about Pellegrini and forget about Koeman.

Only one man who should be considered for the role of Everton manager, and that man is Lucien Favre.

One of the most underrated managers in world football, has succeeded everywhere he's been, some people yap on about a lack of premier league experience. Let me tell you, Favre would make a mockery of this league.

Only concern is language skills maybe, and he has probably the lowest tolerance level in relation to the media, like the lowest I've ever seen, may be a problem coming to England.

Didn't he leave his last club to do bad performance
