Personally i wouldn't go for Emery. De Boer yes because hes a bigger name = Attracts better players. Plus Emery's league form is terrible. 0 Wins away from home all season? Martinez MK2 that.

If we are after Koeman he would be bonkers to turn us down, plain nutty.

We are a bigger club in every conceivable way, have a better squad, have a new billionaire building stadiums and funding major transfers.

I still see plenty on here saying Koeman aint coming, and I just smile, if he aint coming then we don't want him.

My feeling is Moshiri wants a bigger name than Koeman, and he's probably 3rd or 4th on the list.

De Boer lost a 2 team league and couldn't beat Rapid Vienna with a CL spot on the line.

De Boer is Ronny Deila from Celtic with a better playing career, has achieved nothing that a bang average manager couldn't, Won a league with competition from 1 rival and was pathetic in Europe.

Also last seen failing to beat something called De Graafschap when 3pts wins the league.

Koeman may have had his head turned by these stories naming him as a possible successor at Barcelona and Arsenal?

A lot of people writing off Emery because of his away form this season. Mourinho was 16th when Chelsea sacked him, but that's not bothering anyone, because he's proven himself before it. Need to look at them as a whole rather than one negative statistic that is a rare occurance
I think you will find a lot of people were writing off Emery at half time last night mate..

Let's just see what happens. After all this is Everton and we might end up with Mark Hughes or Martin O'Neill in charge!

Koeman has nearly 20 years management experience. Managed Benfica, PSV, Valencia, Ajax, Feyenoord and now Southampton. Won league titles and cups. Was also assistant manager at Barcelona, and assistant for Holland during France '98. As a player he won 2 European Cups, 4 back to back league titles with Barcelona, 4 dutch league titles, and remains the highest scoring defender of all time.

I'm not sure what other experience you're after mate!
Might be just the man to bring on Stones.

Favre does not appeal to me at all. He has only had success in Switzerland. Ok he has had a few good seasons in the German league with champions league qualification.

  • 2009: Manager of the year (Germany)
  • 2011: Manager of the year (Germany)[9]
  • 2012: Manager of the 2011/2012 season (Germany)[10]
  • 2013: Manager of the first half of the 2013/2014 season (Germany)[11]
  • 2015: Manager of the 2014/2015 season (Germany)[12]
No success in Germany?

Those awards are voted for by players & coaches btw.

He has a good record, albeit not many trophies.

He took over BMG whilst they were bottom of the Bundesliga with only 16pts after 22 games, seven points adrift of safety. They avoided relegation that season. Next season they finished 4th and qualified for the Champions League. They finished 8th the next season, then 6th and then 3rd.

He could go either way; part of me thinks he is a Moyes type character who will get you out of the relegation zone and into the top 6 regularly without ever troubling the top of the league, but then he does have his teams playing good football and Guardiola rates him highly, so could be worth a dabble?

He's a good manager, his teams play fast attacking football and he brings young players through. There's a lot to admire and I think he'd do well here.

Like most managers we've been linked with the unknown is how he'll handle a large transfer budget and the increased expectations.

Agreed there.

Can't help but see him as the sort of manager who will use a massive transfer budget to just be able to buy the EXACT players that fit his system. I.e., being more calculated about it and using it to make sure we can just outbid other clubs on very specific players - rather than just throwing cash around at expensive/desirable players.
