Agreed there.

Can't help but see him as the sort of manager who will use a massive transfer budget to just be able to buy the EXACT players that fit his system. I.e., being more calculated about it and using it to make sure we can just outbid other clubs on very specific players - rather than just throwing cash around at expensive/desirable players.
If he ends up here I hope you're right because that's the approach we need.

  • 2009: Manager of the year (Germany)
  • 2011: Manager of the year (Germany)[9]
  • 2012: Manager of the 2011/2012 season (Germany)[10]
  • 2013: Manager of the first half of the 2013/2014 season (Germany)[11]
  • 2015: Manager of the 2014/2015 season (Germany)[12]
No success in Germany?

Those awards are voted for by players & coaches btw.

Same qualifications as Moyes really, a few manager of the year awards, just saying!

Read that FDB tweeted something about Liverpool losing last night? Anyone seen it?
It was basically along the lines of do Liverpool not realise the game lasts for more than 45 minutes and congratulations to Sevilla. It was a bit strange because it looked like he shares a Twitter account with his brother Ronald. I think the tweet had R at the end so people thought it was from him and not Frank.

Didn't Big Davy Moyes get 3 Manager of the Season awards?

Has Favre won anything other than personal awards?

Favre had one basically every single year he was there, in a row. Moyes' last one was 7 years ago, Favre's last one was last year.

I get what you're saying but one is a lot more relevant to a current CV than the other haha.

Personally i wouldn't go for Emery. De Boer yes because hes a bigger name = Attracts better players. Plus Emery's league form is terrible. 0 Wins away from home all season? Martinez MK2 that.
De Boer has two names and Emery has only one. That is the only way De Boer is a bigger name than Emery.

La Liga is arguably the best league in the world. This year they will have both CL and Europa cup winners.
De Boer may very well become a great manager. But, Ronnie Delia won five league title in Scotland and we are hardly going to appoint him.

I think people are missing the point that our status has changed, we are not hoping to appoint a manager that may prove to be brilliant, we hope to appoint a manager that has already proven he is.

See above - and yeah, he bossed the Swiss league multiple times, once with an average age of 21.5. I personally don't put much stock in the idea of a 'winner' though, I prefer to look at relative overperformance of a club.

I know, but these were awarded to him as he overachieved, not because he won anything. Just doesn't get me that excited that's all, though if it was him I would of course be fully supportive.

Koeman being lauded for bringing a 6th place finish to Soton - surely thats a definitive Moyesesque performance - three places above Hughes at Stoke too! I'd rather we appointed Dyche and I really, really, really, dont want him - At least he would be an experiment wheras the others are a commitment to mediocrity
Please appoint someone soon before I have a medical condition develop from waiting and worrying!

De Boer lost a 2 team league and couldn't beat Rapid Vienna with a CL spot on the line.

De Boer is Ronny Deila from Celtic with a better playing career, has achieved nothing that a bang average manager couldn't, Won a league with competition from 1 rival and was pathetic in Europe.

Also last seen failing to beat something called De Graafschap when 3pts wins the league.

Indeed. His popularity is baffling. Steve McClaren did a better job in that league.

No. 1 Mourinho, because he is the special one.
no. 2 Emery, a winner, competing in a serious league.
No. 3 Koeman, done well in the Premiership, but...
No. 4 De Boer , may very well prove to be great manager , but the days of Everton being the launch pad for managerial careers is hopefully behind us.

This list is subject to variation and change as the whim takes me and the author accepts no responsibility for making good sense or not.
