If he's not good enough, how come de Boer is for some?

He has achieved nothing of note. 4 league titles yes - in the Eredivisie which is roughly equivalent to the Championship (I'd argue the Championship is more competitive).

If de Boer was an English manager who had won the Championship with a few teams a few times in his career, any suggestions for him would be laughed off.
I also remember a similar comments about Suarez and the quality of the Dutch league and he seemed to make the transition OK unfortunately!

Although I don't know that much about him, FDB seems the one of our current list that seems most interested in bringing through youth

- Pellegrini has only Iheanacho out of a talented academy
- Emery mismanaged Deulofeu terribly
- Koeman has continued to use the players that Pochettino blooded, can't recall any others he has introduced

Being both interested and skilled in developing youngsters is important imo, not just because we have a good crop atm but since we'll hopefully be building a new stadium our funds might be a little stretched if we try to combine that and buying a squad of ready made players.

As much as I'll back any manager thst isn't mancini / benitez / Moyes / Rodgers.

Please get emery. I know we aren't and i know who we are going to end up getting, but please go for emery! That is my major hope now, don't go for the most logical choice, go for a fella with ambition and a proven record

I'd 100% have him back here, I reckon he'd make a very good director of football even if they got someone else in as manager

It is Everton I support, whoever is appointed will get my full backing and my best wishes as I only want the best for the club.

However, I do feel that the appointment of FDB or Ronald Koeman will not set the pulse racing. Initially at least it won't send out the message that Everton want to move to a different level of expectation. It is about the level of appointment that would be expected of Everton.

I would prefer Emery before either or even Pellegrini if I am honest.

If De Boer was prepared for a two or three year period to work as an assistant manager with an elder stateman like Pellegrini or Hiddink then I think that could work but to put him in charge after coming from the Dutch league is in my opinon too big a jump, moreso when you consider that the expectations at Everton have themselves jumped a lot higher since the arrival of Moshiri.

Koeman has done well at Southampton, but do I honestly believe he could win us a premiership...NO , I don't.

Some of that is a very bold statement

I disagree. Deulofeu behaved poorly at Sevilla. He had not proven much after Sevilla while Emery continued to cement his place in Sevilla history. Losing Deulofeu is the least of our worries.

The romantic in me wants Unsworth to get the chance. Everton is in his blood.

If we appoint a Director of Football to sort out the transfers, he could focus solely on the coaching part. He's done a cracking job with the under-21's, and honestly he could bring in some passion, which in my opinion is what has been missing the last two years.

He got over 1200 votes on what mate? Strictly or something?

Seriously no idea what you're on about mate.

But no, I agree, he's not welcome at the club in any capacity. One, because he's a bottler of the highest order. And two, because he acted like a tit when he joined United.

It's sobering to think that many, if not most with a neutral perspective in this think that Koeman to Everton would be a sideways step for him.
I talk to a lot of colleagues about football, and of the non-blues, none have an axe to grind against Everton and yet none could get their heads around us being able to tempt Koeman.

They probably don't know that Everton have the 7th highest wage bill in the Premier League, even when living within its means.

Under Moyes we had one of the biggest wage bills in the Premier League. It didn't help with the media saying "Everton are punching above their weight" or Moyes saying its an achievement to finish 8th. Despite our friggin wage bill being higher than that.

Notice we don't hear any of this "punching above their weight" nonsense aimed at Southampton despite them having the 14TH highest wage bill and having zero history compared to us.

Southampton are MASSIVELY punching above their weight.

The size of a clubs wallet is the sign on how "big" a club is these days evidently. Out of 114 seasons in the top flight for Everton, you could probably count on two hands the amount of times Southampton have finished above us. But that counts for nothing these days. Two seasons is a long time in football.
