People are so depressed because of how far backwards we've gone under Martinez that many are simply longing to have back what we had before, which was consistent top 8 finishes every season. A sizeable amount of supporters would be satisfied with that because it's a damn sight better than finishing in the bottom half whilst watching the most boring football we've ever seen as Evertonians and having the worst home record for a season in our history.

Yes Moyes did very overall considering how limited his resources were but people also need to remember the bad along with the good because he'd bring all of that back with him too. Failed to win a single away game against the Sky 4 in 47 attempts, stifled flair players whilst favouring grafters like Osman and Neville even though they were generally poo, rolled over for the RS to spank us countless times and, most importantly of all, couldn't win a cup (and apart from '09 and '12 he didn't ever get close either). He's not the man to take us forward, we went as far as we could go under him in the 2008/09 season and the few seasons after that were just us and him treading water really.

I firmly believe the only reason he wants to come back is for the doe, he had one of the best deals of any manager in the league whilst he was with us. He doesn't really care about the club or our history or the supporters, he proved that when he snidely tried to buy our two best players on the cheap, not to mention the fact that he never gave any club legends or fan representatives the time of day. Martinez, for all his faults, did whole-heartedly embrace the club's ethos and I will always have some likeness for him for that.

If he got the job my fume levels would go off the charts. I literally would explode I think.

Find it absolutely astonishing he's in the poll let alone got a couple of dozen votes.

The sick, mental, evil side of me wants him to be given a 7 year contract.

It would be like all my christmases at once.

I mean I would never go to another game and follow Ice Hockey, but Christ it would be the best week of my life.

Heads would just be rolling off down the street.

The main thing is that the manager coming in doesn't let their preferred style of play come before winning.

We aren't an experiment for someone on an ego trip. We need to play in the way which lends itself best to winning football matches. I'm not even arsed about style. I want to win and that's all.

Vote Moyes!

These know the score...

"If we can't get the best - Moyes would do for me"

Sake, that's like saying "Well I couldn't get that bottle of vintage Bollinger that I wanted, so I got a bottle of paint stripper instead - that will do me". Some people just have zero ambition.
