"If we can't get the best - Moyes would do for me"

Sake, that's like saying "Well I couldn't get that bottle of vintage Bollinger that I wanted, so I got a bottle of paint stripper instead - that will do me". Some people just have zero ambition.

I'm starting to warm up to Unsworth being manager LOL

Simeone/Emery > Unsworth???

I disagree. Deulofeu behaved poorly at Sevilla. He had not proven much after Sevilla while Emery continued to cement his place in Sevilla history. Losing Deulofeu is the least of our worries.
What did Deulofeu do that to your eyes was him behaving poorly? I confess I didn't see anything other than a lad who looked utterly miserable.

Emery also didn't give that much playing time to the other Barca loanee of that season, Dennis Suarez. Perhaps that is just he didn't much like loanees although that would raise the question why he got them in the first place.

I haven't followed Sevilla much this year but a brief look at the squad list suggests that most of the apperances have gone to players in their late twenties apart from their very young GK Rico. The only other under 25 year old into double appearance figures is Christoforo. That data doesn't suggest to me that he has much interest in young players but might jist be a quirk of the season - has he a history of handling them well and bringing them through?

Now to just get him off the poll. Only a couple actually want him back

Kit I'm not trying to start an argument but that's not true. I started a thread asking for the reasons why some supporters wanted Moyes back. I was interested in the reasoning behind it. I thought, incorrectly, it deserved it's own thread. The evidence was put forward, whether we like it not that some people, a lot of people actually, thought it was a viable option. Shouldn't we hear the rationale behind that?

As I said, its highly likely that the vote contained a heck of a lot of kopites considering it was open to anyone including guests. And I do genuinely respect that some people hold fonder memories of the Moyes period than I do personally, but I don''t apologise for feeling embarassed that he's even being mentioned as our new boss.

So how do you govern for that? Do you exclude people from voting without the necessary credentials? That's a dark route to follow, isn't it better to take it at face value?

The majority didnt want him - but you'd be surprised how many do. I was, anyway...

Indeed - I merged it here.

He had money at Man Utd and he FAILED.

Kendall 2 failed.
Kendall 3 failed.
Moyes 2 would fail.

People just don't get it. Times have changed. You can't go back.

We have the chance of a clean slate; the opportunity to make a statement and bring in someone with a winning attitude, philosophy and track record. Someone who will not only capture EFC fans imagination but make the rest of the country sit up and take notice.

Not pick a failure from elsewhere, a risible joke figure, 'David Moyes football genius' as the chant goes or 'David Moyes 10 more years' as the horrible Kop sang during the last derby defeat of his first reign.

Act like a big club and not like an unambitious mid-table joke club run like a corner shop.

Appointing Moyes would basically signal no ambition or imagination at the club and kill our hopes and dreams for the next few years. He couldn't give the team the mentality to win at a top 4 club in 11 YEARS at the club. He just hasn't got it in him.

Sure you can mate. I won't.

The myth that he would do well with money was well and truly busted at United.

27 on fellaini and what, a 40 million panic buy of Juan Mata? No tar. Keep him as far away from this football club as possible.

Which was the right thing to do, there appears to be a silent opinion here that's not being heard. Personally I'd like to hear it, without accusations. A "Moyes In' thread isn't necessary, but I think it's important to hear the other side for the sake of balance.

Sevilla has a history of selling their big players so they are like a revolving door of players. I don't think there is any way of judging his "bringing through youth" in a system that is not geared at youth. Based on that list, 3 players are under 25 and fairly active. Going back a few years showed that he has used youth if they perform well enough. He used Suarez and Deulofeu fairly often given their "enmity" with Deulofeu.

I don't think he didn't want to blood them, just that they have not fitted into the team as well. e.g. Why would he use youngsters like Rico if he wasn't interested in them? He picks players based on performance I think (I remember hearing commentators saying he dropped the regular from a few seasons ago due to form)

As for Deulofeu, he used twitter to show his disapproval after being dropped.

If I was manager, I'd have reacted the same way or worse. No player should be given the right to just play in the team without the right performance, attitude and effort. Deulofeu is talented, but how often has he carried the team and won the game by himself? Currently, no, so I would expect him to train hard and improve. His stamina is a big issue this season and needs addressing. Did Emery see the same issues? I don't know. Hopefully, Deulofeu has since warmed to Emery's tough love after this underachieving season.

Moyes would not go down well. But there were times, like when Landon Donavon came on loan, when we had balance and looked as good as the best United teams in prem times. He never had the cash to maintain a balanced squad but he was too timid when we had a chance to get a trophy. Would not be my first choice and i dont think he would attract the best initially. People want him because he does give security. Even in Robertos first season it was good but never felt solid.
