Koeman is a myth also he is a good manager far from a great one.

Moyes was doing what has done with a smaller squad and a smaller budget.

We want someone to take us into the next level not just be solid.

Pointless appointment
You are saying he is a myth but realistically how cab you judge someone after 2 years in the premier league where after both years he has had his squad ripped apart? But yet still manage to finish above us?, and in reality he had spent the same as Martinez roughly

We need to look at the possibility that top Managers won't come here. We may need to settle for that tier below. Which annoys the heck out of me just writing that!

Nothing wrong with backup plans. I'm willing to accept FDB as long as we set up the DoF and other related structures well to withstand a lame duck appointment. Hopefully we get Monchi or Overmars. Either 1 would be a great start.

Here is a strange thing for me. Davek argued ferociously and eloquently in defense of Martinez, but then after he stopped posting, as If out of tribute, many adopted his avatar. Even though his opinions were often derided. I think it was a compliment of the highest order.

Even though we may disagree with someone vehemently, they are still to be respected and not shut down. Even if they are perceived to be wrong, isn't it shameful to quieten their voice? So if someone wants Moyes as our next manager, even though I think it's madness, I'd value that opinion because it challenges my own. That's always a good thing. So as far as polls go, Moyes should definitely stay there, until the day he is accepted as manager of Villa.

Davek didn't stop posting, he was banned for blatant winding up.

Sevilla has a history of selling their big players so they are like a revolving door of players. I don't think there is any way of judging his "bringing through youth" in a system that is not geared at youth. Based on that list, 3 players are under 25 and fairly active. Going back a few years showed that he has used youth if they perform well enough. He used Suarez and Deulofeu fairly often given their "enmity" with Deulofeu.

I don't think he didn't want to blood them, just that they have not fitted into the team as well. e.g. Why would he use youngsters like Rico if he wasn't interested in them? He picks players based on performance I think (I remember hearing commentators saying he dropped the regular from a few seasons ago due to form)

As for Deulofeu, he used twitter to show his disapproval after being dropped.

If I was manager, I'd have reacted the same way or worse. No player should be given the right to just play in the team without the right performance, attitude and effort. Deulofeu is talented, but how often has he carried the team and won the game by himself? Currently, no, so I would expect him to train hard and improve. His stamina is a big issue this season and needs addressing. Did Emery see the same issues? I don't know. Hopefully, Deulofeu has since warmed to Emery's tough love after this underachieving season.
That tweet was mildly petulant agree but not particularly outrageous "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is a pretty well known phrase after all - the public smackdown by Emery was incredibly OTT in my opinion. If that raised Emery's ire he'd have had a field day with Kev storming off the subs bench, media moaning and throwing his gloves around let along half the hi-jinx a lot of players get up to!

And other than that one mild tweet what is your evidence for a young player behaving badly which I generally class along the lines of partying, throwing huge strops, fighting, showing up late for training, being rude to fans etc?

If I read it right ESPN have Kolodziejczack as 18, he's actually 24 so whilst technically meets the criteria think it a bit of a stretch to call him a youth player.

Perhaps Sevilla don't have a good academy setup, I honestly don't know, and he might be excellent in other ways but on the evidence I've seen so far Emery doesn't seem to have the particular focus on youngsters I'd prefer in our next manager although his use of a very young GK is intriguing.

Think we'll see another Martinez situation tomorrow with the Copa del Rey final. Emery's 3rd Europa win on the bounce against the RS was bound to have turned heads, if Emery manages to win the double against one of the best teams in the world tomorrow - and he has done it this season - I'm certain the Everton job will be his, if he wants it as has been rumoured.

Pereira was all but nailed on 3 years ago with Martinez an outside chance, then Ben Watson headed past Pantilimon in stoppage time.

Oh I see..

If you're talking about the smackdown, I think you're referring to this:

I don't know what Emery did after the tweet (other than the article and tweet) but the tweet was after he dropped Delboy and that was close to season end. I don't feel it's OTT. Imagine if it was SAF, he would be sent packing right away without telling what he sees lacking. If we're trying to go for that level of success, we might need that type of manager, especially with the number of youngsters we have who needs to understand the game rather than always depending on their raw talent.

I'm not without my doubts, as with any other candidate, but as mentioned before, there is not enough data of Sevilla's youth setup bringing through talent he could use. But based on what Sevilla had to sell yearly and them actually winning despite that, I think he can bring the best out of any player, young or old.

Another article about Sevilla (this one on Monchi): http://thecomeback.com/32flags/uncategorized/sevilla-fcs-surprising-success-run-club.html

Bring either 1 of them and I think half the battle for the future is won. That's my take anyway.

So Koeman or Pellegrini, which one and why?

Koeman. Watch some post match interviews. They lost so many good players, he rebuilt. He is positive but not in a whimsical way like the previous. I just had a feeling watching him in last couple of months that he could be perfect for us. Yes it's gut instinct.

Can I just say that whoever we choose, no more than a 3 year contract please?
