Yes it's gut instinct
I think it's going to be Koeman too, although I'd go for Emery. Still I think we won't go far wrong with him. And for the record I think he is far better than a Dutch David Moyes.

So Koeman or Pellegrini, which one and why?
Can I just say that whoever we choose, no more than a 3 year contract please?
I don't want us to be a "hire and fire" club but progress must be made.
The smackdown I meant was Emery's tweet of the subs bench. Deulofeu hadn't played a single minute since mid Feb so can understand him getting a touch upset by mid April even if his mild rebellion wasn't the right way to handle it. Whilst I wouldn't have blinked an eye if Emery had hauled him in from of the squad on the Monday morning and given him a dressing down, think the responding tweet was a quite pathetic way of asserting control. But then I have a pet peeve of managers disciplining staff, particuarly young players, in the full glare of the media. If you're talking about the smackdown, I think you're referring to this:

I don't know what Emery did after the tweet (other than the article and tweet) but the tweet was after he dropped Delboy and that was close to season end. I don't feel it's OTT. Imagine if it was SAF, he would be sent packing right away without telling what he sees lacking. If we're trying to go for that level of success, we might need that type of manager, especially with the number of youngsters we have who needs to understand the game rather than always depending on their raw talent.
I'm not without my doubts, as with any other candidate, but as mentioned before, there is not enough data of Sevilla's youth setup bringing through talent he could use. But based on what Sevilla had to sell yearly and them actually winning despite that, I think he can bring the best out of any player, young or old.
Another article about Sevilla (this one on Monchi): http://thecomeback.com/32flags/uncategorized/sevilla-fcs-surprising-success-run-club.html
Bring either 1 of them and I think half the battle for the future is won. That's my take anyway.
We need to look at the possibility that top Managers won't come here. We may need to settle for that tier below. Which annoys the heck out of me just writing that!

Thanks for the article on Monchi, sounds a very interesting guy.
Agree, it annoys me too
Indeed, Koeman seems not interest to be our new manager.....Emery seems not interest to be our new manager too.....
Who are the candidates left? FdB, Pellegrini, Favre, Flores, Moyes, ONeill.....
My top priority: Pellegrini and Favre (I would like the new manager has different clubs and top league experience, thus out of FdB), they have good track record in management, they have trophy, they have good track record in transfer market (I don't think Pellegrini has freedom in transfer policy at MC, therefore I have a question mark here). If both of them cannot be employed, Moyes is my third choice.
Pellegrini for a couple of years.
Koeman leaves me flaccid.
Anytime anyone says they'd have Moyes back, a fairy loses its wings.
