We need to look at the possibility that top Managers won't come here. We may need to settle for that tier below. Which annoys the heck out of me just writing that!

On which tier was Ranieri before this season?

I don't disagree with the sentiment in the slightest, but finding the right manager is more important than hiring the manager with the best pedigree. The next "top tier" managers are out there, learning and growing. Just because Everton don't sign Mourinho doesn't mean the man they do sign won't end up being as successful.

Thanks for the article on Monchi, sounds a very interesting guy.

Additional bullets against Deulofeu LOL
I was reading so much negative stuff about him at Sevilla that when we actually signed him, I was very skeptical and uneasy.

To be fair, the young guys Emery are using are both bought, not groomed. Think this rules out using the youth. Again, might be an indication of Sevilla's system (academy might have not produced anyone great) rather than Emery's preference. Also might say something about his eye for talent amongst the lesser knowns.

On the "I've just lost to the Faroe Islands" tier

Fair play to him like, but he was in the football wilderness before this season, hadn't done anything of note in a long time.

Don't forget, a lot of Leicester fans did not want him.

Tier 1 manager :

Cagliari[6][13]
Fiorentina[6][13]
Valencia[6][13]
Monaco[6][13][83]
Leicester City

His last pot was 2013 and it was the French second division.

He was absolutely abysmal as Greece manager.

The point was that he wasn't the sort of manager Bayern, Real Madrid, etc were chasing (this decade). The fact Leicester weren't competing with Manchester United for his services didn't automatically make him a failure as a manager.

Why do I get the feeling we are going to reset this poll as every candidate drops out and it will just be Hughes or Fat Sam as options

I was thinking the same thing.

Why is Moyes's name on the list?

If this man is even bring considered for the job my head will explode.

If by some chance he was to get the job, the fanbase will be every bit as fractured as it became during the last five months of Bobby's reign.

I would rather give Unsy a chance before fetching that bugger back.

Both make me cry a little inside.

Not really the "name" I wanted, but they will both improve the squad and either could "push" us with the right signings.

Think its now a 2 horse race between these 2.

If they well and truly are the only two options in the shop window, it's Pellegrini for a season or two hopefully grooming his replacement.

I want a manager that's won stuff. Preferably having a notch or two on their belt in England.

'I predict Utd will win the FA Cup, sack LVG and appoint José.' I said this last week. @The Esk was spot on when he said we were in contact with José but Koeman was more likely. I think as a passionate Evertonian he overestimated Josés interest. José was never going to come. He would have gone to PSG or the ilk if Utd didn't pan out. We were leverage for his agent to pursue Utd.
No need not panic though. Koeman is more realistic bit still unlikely. That leaves FDB or Favre. The only two who want the job. FDB is the favourite but I'm hoping for Favre. Not enthusiastic about another 3 years of tika taka.
