Regarding Emery...put yourself in his shoes...why would you take over a project when you've just done what you did?
The premiership holds a big attraction for many managers. It's a long shot but I hope we at least sound him out before making any decisions.

I think you're right and you say Cocu is your first shout, which I agree with. Good manager. I have no idea why Cocu or Emery wouldn't be on a list. Seems absurd to me.

Well we have no idea at all.

Im sure the list started off fairly big, whos to say they didnt approach Cocu and he said nar? Same with Emery, maybe the "list of 4" were the only names that showed "interest" Maybe Cocus got his eye on the barca job? Maybe Emery fancies a pop at Real? They both have good clubs who win stuff and play in Europe, sure we could offer them a pay rise and give them a challenge, but its unreasonable to place us above Sevilla or even PSV, that will sound harsh to some, yes, im aware, Everton are the biggest and best club in the world, but in reality, we are a trophy less team who have finished 11th twice.

Compare the names tho, last time it was Martinez, Davie freaking Weir, Alan Stubbs, this time its Pellegrini, Koeman, Frank De Boer.

Whos it gonna be next time? And when I say next time I mean in 5 years time when Frank resigns cos he failed to complete the quadruple.

There's still FDB and Favre. Failing that Moyes and the anti-Christ (Rafael). Actually I sincerely hope we sound out Rafael before he signs on the dotted line for Newcastle. I know that's a heretical statement here but now that the unrealistic fantasies of José have fallen through I hope Moshiri is pragmatic and seeks the best candidate available for the job irrelevant of past misdeeds. Que the kopite accusations.

Some media comment on both FdB and Favre:

"Frank De Boer would be a risk for Everton to bring to the club. Despite the success De Boer had in the Eredevisie, Ajax took a step backwards when it came to competing in European competitions. With the money available De Boer is not a proven transfer dealer in the market so a move for the iconic Dutchman would bring its own risks with a move."

"The Swiss manager Favre is highly regarded is Germany and after the success he had at Borussia Mönchengladbach it is easy to see why, the problem the Everton hierarchy need to consider was that during the summer of 2015 Favre had money available to him in Germany and this was not spent fantastically well, resulting in him stepping down from the job, another risky move if appointed by the club."

He spent 35m, after selling players worth 33m, he paid 6m for Hazards jarg little brother.

SWERVE.

For the record, the signings cant have been that bad, they still finished 4th.

Both risks. No safe and tested bet it would seem. Except Moyes of course. :-)
