The options keep getting worse. I'm about ready for Unsie and Big Joe to stick around

Agree, options seem to be get lesser.....

"Ronald Koeman would only consider leaving Southampton for a top club in the Premier League or Europe, according to Sky sources.

The Dutchman, who has been reported as a candidate for the vacant Everton job, declared he wanted to stay at Southampton on Sunday after securing a Europa League spot in Saints' final game of the season."

'I predict Utd will win the FA Cup, sack LVG and appoint José.' I said this last week. @The Esk was spot on when he said we were in contact with José but Koeman was more likely. I think as a passionate Evertonian he overestimated Josés interest. José was never going to come. He would have gone to PSG or the ilk if Utd didn't pan out. We were leverage for his agent to pursue Utd.
No need not panic though. Koeman is more realistic bit still unlikely. That leaves FDB or Favre. The only two who want the job. FDB is the favourite but I'm hoping for Favre. Not enthusiastic about another 3 years of tika taka.

You know there hasnt been a single worthy link to Favre, right? I mean hes out of work, so its likely he would take the job if offered, but the only link to him so far has been from The S**.

Nothing ive seen makes me think we changed from our original :

Mourinho, who was always a pipe dream, United missing out on 4th probably ended that dream, if it wasnt already over, the fans had turned on LVG big time, no way was he gonna survive and im afraid no manager is gonna turn down United to join Everton, im sorry but they aint, not in 2016, maybe in the future? Meh, United are a footballing "super power", we are a sleeping giant.

Pellegrini, out of work, might fancy staying in his north west base, we can offer him a decent wedge to spend, but meh.

Koeman, just got Southampton to the Europa, might fancy staying and seeing his contract out, might fancy coming here and not having his better players sold, but hey, its Everton, we will probably sell 2 of our better players this Summer, but who doesnt get cherry picked, bar Barca and Real.

De Boer, currently selling his arse and having his brother pimp him out.

Anyway, I think its between De Boer and Koeman, personally would prefer De Boer, hungrier and more of a risk, I like risks.

There's still FDB and Favre. Failing that Moyes and the anti-Christ (Rafael). Actually I sincerely hope we sound out Rafael before he signs on the dotted line for Newcastle. I know that's a heretical statement here but now that the unrealistic fantasies of José have fallen through I hope Moshiri is pragmatic and seeks the best candidate available for the job irrelevant of past misdeeds. Que the kopite accusations.

One of those two or Pellegrini. Koeman has the Dutch edge as he has prem experience and every time I have seen hiim interviewed, he is no bullshit, knowledgable and professional, what we need for next phase. I would say Pellegrini is also in this category. De Boer, I just don't know, he is the riskier option.

I'd be very happy with Koeman. Always been my first choice.

Ive read a few of your posts and am randomly quoting this one...

I just wonder if youre aware of the circumstances why Koeman left certain clubs?

Take a look on wiki (so not to waste much time) and see the length of time he spent at clubs and then perhaps google the time he left and their position in the league.

He has won a trophy then the club has dropped off and hes been ditched. Or in the case of AZ and Valencia he has been a total disaster.

His best spell was at Feyenoord where he won nothing but seemed to stablise the club.

In contrast FDB took over Ajax when then hadnt won a trophy in ages and where AZ and Twente had much more money to spend (at least on wages). Brought through kids and his transfer record was £4.5mil but a net spend of positive £65mil.

He commands respect and is a very serious person who takes no nonsense as seen with players being sold off if they cross him or step out of line...like SAF used to do.

The only Dutch manager to currently compare to him is Cocu.

Separately those wanting Koeman due to the job he has done at southampton perhaps dont take into account that he has basically sold off a Lovren and been able to spend decent amounts on replacements like Van Dijk and Wanyama...he hasnt reinvented the wheel.

Its like us getting £100mil off someone for Lukaku and then spending £60mil on replacements...with a Director of football handling the negotiations.

I think FDB has shown consistency and loyalty wth Ajax and his record cant be compared to McLaren who whilst at Twente had the highest or one of the highest budgets in the league at that time.

It's been reported that Favre has contacted us and we've held initial talks. Don't know if that's true but if it is he's clearly interested. Regarding FDB I didn't know anything about Dutch footy until I researched and initially I though great but after further research I was put off by his rigid possession style. I know he drills defence, gets them fit and pressing as a unit but he still espouses possession above all. If I thought it would work great but mostly it seems to underachieve in the Premiership i.e. us and Utd.

Ive just told you mate, the only link to Favre was a paper that struggles to get the date right.
