Mourinho spent 49m, 5m and 9m (total 63m nets spend) in the 3 years back at Chelsea
Martinez spent -16m, 36m, 28m (total 48m net) in Martinez three seasons at Everton

So overall Mourinho on average spent 21m per season at Chelsea, Martinez 16m per season at everton, 5m more per season on transfers mate, hardly a huge difference really, also Martinez outspent by a large amount Chelsea in 2 of those 3 seasons, the blip season being the one we loaned in 40m quid worth of players which obviously don't count in spending terms

21m per season compared to 16m per season on average.

Also amusing how many people don't realsie that Mourinho has had some exceptional value for momney buys in his time as well.

Ozil 13m, Di Maria 24m, Modric 27m, Varane 7m, Khedira 10m at Madrid
at Inter - Eto'o -16m, Milito 21m, Sneider 11m, Motta 8m

Just to go from his last two foreign managerial posts, so yeah he has shown he can buy well without spending 35m on left backs mate
Yeah, that's a very fair comparison, of course, because Mourinho arrived back at a Chelsea team that were roughly on a par with Everton three seasons ago and not bristling with the type of talent that had won them the European Cup.

You said that Mourinho couldn't coach a team without being able to spend 35m on a left back and having a unlimited budget, i showed that the past three years he has been very close to Martinez on what he was spending. Also showed that Mourinho has shown an ability of picking up excpetional players for fees that we are capable of paying and have paid under martinez, so trying to make out he can only buy 35m pound players is dissingenuous

From mourinho now to dyche and rowett :pint2:

Mourinho would be the obvious choice if he would want to come here but I doubt that. Benitez went to Newcastle and I dont think Moyes would return either. Dyche and Rowett is on par with the rest of the managers in the poll and I would prefer if our club have a British identity.

I agree mate, but I'm not talking about the likes of Pellegrini, Mourinho etc.

I'm on about the likes of Flores, or Koeman, etc, who have experience of big clubs and in the PL. Flores is still my choice (well, Martinez is, but if he did go...) for a manager who could come in and retain the style of play but add that defensive soldidity that we need.

Good shouts Toff though if we got Koeman it would make things even worse between my Southampton supporting mate and I :-)

Wouldn't want moyes to return, wouldn't want the fat spanish bellend. British managers are crap

Chelsea's squad when he went back there: £374M spent on assembling it....and you're saying the £63M net spend he added onto that total should be seen as him struggling on a budget.

FFS mate. I think it's time to log off.

So your saying that if the pieces are in place then he doesn't need to spend a huge amount then Dave?

Given the fact you reckon Martinez has put a lot of the pieces in place here - then why would Mourinho need to spend as much as you try to make out he would?

Strange that you don't apply a similar logic to when Martinez spends money compared to other teams who don't have anywhere near the same quality of player that we do.

If you can't see that Mourinho at Everton would vastly improve us as a team and would improve a lot of the players as well then your living in a strange world that has Martinez as a better manager than Mourinho mate.

Question - do you rate Martinez as a better manager than Mourinho? simple yes or no answer will suffice dave ;)

He's put together a squad with potential mate, that's the key difference. Mourinho walked back into a squad full of accomplished players who had won titles and a EC.

Alternative view, he took over a team in dissaray whod been through 2 managers in 6 months mate

question again as you've dodged it a few times now

Mourinho as a manager is a legend...but with very good players who cost a lot of money. Martinez is a manager who can craft together a quality side on less amounts of cash. Guess which one has been suited to Everton...and will continue being so (despite all the BS around this Moshiri feller spending large) in the near future?

Disagree totally dave, and fgs don't keep saying i've jumped in the bandwagon i have been critical of martinez for over a season now, that first year gave him some leeway to show last wasn't a trend, but sorry mate, regardless of what you think martinez is just not good enough for the Everton i know and love, i don't like seeing my team be entertaining whilst losing and throwing away games on a consistant basis, i want to see them winning and where they belong.

On a side note the games on soon so lets all hope we smash them a new one, but it won't alter my long term view on whats right going forward for our club mate

Why does it matter where someone's from ?
Regardless of why we're Blues, we're all Evertonians and all care about the club enough to type rubbish on the internet when we could probably be doing something much more pleasurable or productive.

You are right and I apologize. No more apple vodka for me. ;)
