So which bigger clubs are looking for a manager, Everton aside?

He was sacked after 5 months in Russia and as far as I'm aware that is the only other time he has managed outside Spain.

It could be an isolated case. Even managers like Clough had their blips however it could also be a sign of a deeper problem. I rate Emery and have done for a while. I guess I just prefer De Boer because of what I think he will offer rather than anything negative regarding Emery. He's managed well against European teams though (3 years in a row of th EL) proves that and he's shown he knows how to motivate players. Would be my #1 choice comfortably.

Yeah - I know what you are saying. I'm not sure age comes into it. It's all down to the individual. Any manager still in the management job in their 60s must have something about them. Martinez is pretty young - but totally inflexible. A good manager should be able to use the best tactics for the players available - not try to force a system on them.I've got no arguments about Ranieri. He's done amazingly.
You'll always find exceptions. I was expressing a generalised opinion.

Totally agree mate. I actually even saw someone in the mourhino theard in the world football section of the forum say something along the lines of "Mourihno wont do well at UTD, he'll win the title and crash out shortly after" how is winning a title a failure ffs haha id be happy with any of emery, pellegrini or even koeman or farveI know everyone wants the best for Everton but some of the criticism of the likes of Emery Pellegrini etc. is ridiculous. It's clear now that we're not going to get Mourinho. Him Guardiola Ancelloti and Simeone are probably the continent's super managers. Prior to Moshiri's arrival we weren't even looking at the next tier down, we were looking at promising championship managers in the NW or who was available in the SPL. Now we're turning our noses up at managers who have won European trophies in three successive seasons, have won titles in England, and have won multiple league titles abroad. Let's get the best manager in that we can, let him build the team to as far as he can get it, then see what the next step is.
