....I suspect Everton will be talking to (interviewing) all the likely candidates for our job, it's how the club will determine their views and vision for the future.

According to press reports, David Moyes is in talks with Villa for their managers job. We might be able to take him off our option list soon.

Hope so, he would do a good job at Villa tbf, Rafael and Moyes in the championship. Wow

I would not believe any gossip or rumours now. With Mourinho basically confirmed to Utd the biggest job in football now is at Everton. Everyone knows there will be large funds available and a decent enough squad to start with. No matter what Lukaku says he is still under contract. So all the agents of managers that we are being strongly linked with will be spouting rumours left right and centre. I do expect us to have someone in place by the end of next week though. Of the candidates in the poll I wouldn't be against any bar Moyes.

Pellegrini would certainly feel a safe, easy and uninspiring option.

But you never know. Ranieri felt the same according my my Leicester mate.

Prior to Moshiri and the rumours about Mourinho we would have jumped at the chance of Pellegrini. Bill would have most likely kept Martinez or looked at Howe Moyes or Stubbs to replace him. I see Pellegrini as a huge coup if we could get him. He plays great football, is a winner proven in the premier league, is good in Europe, and is a nice man go boot. What other criteria are we looking for exactly for an Everton manager?

Moshiri is in the process of transforming this Club off the pitch, he wont go and ruin it by appointing the wrong manager.

Even the top clubs hire a few duds, and they also hire good managers who just don't suit their club, before finally getting the right manager in the right place at the right time for success. I'm not expecting a miracle worker, just a better manager than Martinez who can get us going in the right direction again and hopefully end the silverware drought.

I don't mind them interviewing managers that are available. Have no arguments with that, it felt like when we hired Martinez we just where linked with a few then Martinez had one meeting with Kenwright and nothing else mattered, it was him.

I would rather we spoke to a few managers, get their vision, their ideology for the football for the club going forward and make the right decision - then knee jerk after interviewing one manager.

There is no harm in talking to Pellegrini. We should interview as many top quality managers as we can.

Hopefully though, Emery would get the nod if he was interested. What exactly happened between him and Del? Did they fall out at Sevilla or did Emery not fancy him (I don't mean like that)?

Exactly. People are acting like Pellegrini would be horrible appointment. Anyways...agree with the Emery part...Hopefully we're really trying to get him. I think he didnt like Dels attitude/work rate

Pretty sure we interviewed Perreira after Martinez that summer mate, but yeh, Bill's mind was already made up - in fairness to him based on that first year it looked an inspired move - we all thought it.
