no, why would we possibly downgrade that far?
Just look at the levels of fumes on here when we have a fairly decent manager (Bobby/Moyes), imagine them if Howe was announced.

Bobby? Fairly decent? LOL.

You're being far too dismissive of Howe too. He's a very young manager who has done a terrific job not only getting a tiny club in to the top flight, but managing to keep them up whilst playing very good football.

Many wouldn't be overly happy though as most will want a top "name", but I'd be happy with Eddie Howe.

And we shouldn't be waiting until 10 games into the new season or even Christmas to make any appointment! If its going to be done it has to be done at the end of this season, FA Cup win or no FA Cup win, otherwise yet another season will have gone down the pan or even worse!
