On Pellegrini I've got two worries, the first one is his age, and the short periods of times he's spent at previous clubs not that any of that affects his coaching ability at all but someone turning 63 probably isn't going to want to go through a full rebuild and develop a young list to compliment the batch of youngsters we've got coming through and current players like Stones, Barkley and Galloway that can challenge the big guns in years further down the track. If he came in he'd be chasing instant success rather than trying to build a squad. My second concern is his transfer record he really does have quite a poor record when you consider the amount of money he's spent. If we did bring in a director of football came in it'd be there job to build the squad, discuss bringing youth in, work on the policies and how the transfer budget is spent allowing Manuel to concentrate on man management and tactics, which are renowned as his managerial strengths.
He's not my number one preference but I think with a DoF he could be a really good option and I'd have faith in him taking our great club foward. No where near as bad as people are making him out to be.
