People here need to lower their expectations. Martinez took us backwards and delayed progress remember. The next manager will not come from a high profile club to manage a mid table team.

We all look at it differently because we are Everton and we are a big club, but to a 40 year old male who lives in Spain and has played in Italy, Everton are no different than Stoke City or West Brom. Sorry to be blunt about it but to people who do not support Everton, we are a mid table Premiership team
See these fans? No ambition, just like the board.
Everton aren't we?!

So put yourself in a managers shoes.

The premier league has
Mourinho at Man U
Pep at City
Klopp at the RS
Conte at Chelsea

Now there's this club who are quite a big, the 4th most decorated in the UK.
They've been going through some hard times, they used to be massive and had greats like Lineker playing for them.
Now they've got a new owner with a few quid and as far as I can tell he seems really ambitious.
Imagine what a challenge that would be to get them winning again.
Imagine what it would do to my own reputation and imagine what it would be like to pit your wits against those mentioned managers week in week out.

I think it sounds like a really attractive challenge, keep the faith blues.
We aren't going for simeone, and he wouldn't consider coming here.

Same as pep or ancelotti wouldn't look twice at us

Emery the best we can get, and I pray we do get him

This is my logic for simeone...plus £££€€€$$$

Think the Simeone chat is a bit fanciful but stranger things have happened. Personally while i'd be absolutely delighted with Emery I still favour getting Pellegrini in.

Emery is a good manager and he'd probably be a more exciting appointment but his unfamiliarity with the premier league makes him a risk. We aren't in a position where everything is in place except the manager, Moshiri has a massive task behind the scenes to drag the club back up to where it belongs. I think Sam the Eagle offers a step up from Moyes and Roberto whilst being a 'safe' appointment. Let him improve us on the pitch for a few seasons whilst Moshiri sorts out the stadium and commerical operation, then potentially we might attract the like of Simeone.

Will support whoever gets the job though.

What if he wants to manage in premier league?
Then he waits for Chelsea or someone to approach him.

Just because we are after a manager does not mean anyone in the world would consider us. In fact we have got massively lucky by emery being interested in us.

Dont underestimate a manager EGO, making a sleeping giant successful again against the likes of Pep and co will definatly have its pull, add a wage increase, add 100 mil to spend add a 22 years old possible World class striker as well as Stones and Barkley, plus alot of the old guard have gone, which will free up alot of wages.

Oh yeah, so you have concrette evidence do you.
I never mentioned Simeone anyway but I will hope.
But I agree about Emery, he'd do very nicely.

Lots of pellegrini stuff being leaked to the media suggests to me that we are pushing Emery for a decision. As much as I would love us to get Simeone if he does leave then he will end up at Inter.

Je suis ITK

Quite. But we attracted Moshiri, didn't we? Chin up, mate.

Can't believe people are against getting a manager that has experience of winning the league and got his side to the semis of the Champions League.
I guess it's because with the funds spent, available that would have been the expected goals for that club. He won't have Aguero or Silva here mate.

The 'but he had money to spend' stick that gets used to beat him doesn't stand up to too much scrutiny when you see how poor Man utd, chelsea and the RS have been despite spunking money left right and centre on players.

At the end of the day he knows what it takes to win the the PL and domestic cups here, would be a great manager for us.
