Tomorrow? One of the biggest clubs in Europe would lose their manager and possibly DoF overnight and we gain them and there's basically nothing in Spanish press about it? Or British? I don't see it. If the manager was not employed perhaps overnight but he's not.
Have you read tonight's Echo

Nah just got a feeling.

Btw nobody knew Martinez would be gone the day after Sunderland, maybe we'll see something tomorrow morning, who knows.

Whoever takes over has more money to spend 'allegedly'.
I'd want more than Europa Leagues from any future manager.
Rebuild 1st year, minimum 6th
2nd year Champions League qualification
3rd year Pushing for Premiership ahead of our new move into the new stadium
Next....infinity and beyond!
Where's your ambition man? Year 3 we should be aiming for the inter galaxy space cup.

Champions league trophy is the bare minimum next season, or we start again.

Must admit my hopes of Emery joining are rising steadily.

We must surely now be in advanced negotiations with him. That means he wants to join us.

That must surely mean both sides have at least agreed on an outline deal in principle and you would hope the next day or two would be taken up with more intricate detail - coaching staff, budget, transfer targets, structures, DoF and so forth.

I have never thought a deal with Emery would fall down due to a failure from our side.

Pellegrini will be appointed on Friday I think!
That's some sound, positive logic... Ruined at the last!

I suspect there's more than a slight racist and self interested element to the media championing of Moyes Giggs Hughes etc. They may very well think that pushing British managers into positions for which they are totally unsuitable will do them favours with the footballing powers in this country in the short and medium term.
They just try and appeal to their readers, whom I can only think they presume to be small-minded and bigoted.

The fact that all sides are quiet is the most significant point. There's been plenty of time for one or another party to say it's not happening. The absence of such normally means there's a workable solution for all parties, it just needs to be negotiated out.

Could even be down to the small details... car, expenses account, housing allowance... and/or anything else that may not have been discussed in the main and follow-up meetings.

Yes but people were saying it would happen. Which was your point wasn't it?

They were? Can't remember anyone confidently saying he'd be sacked Thursday before we got stuffed. There were a few reports but nobody knew the exact timing until the morning after, similar to what we're seeing now.
