Had two separate confirmations that Koeman deal is "done" - he was clearly Moshiri's #1 target at the beginning of the process even though it looked like he'd lost that position when Emery became a possibility and received an offer.

Assuming the DoF is sorted quickly we are in a fantastic position to enjoy the summer, re-vamp the squad, hopefully keep our major players and obviously buy some genuine talent with the funds Moshiri is making available to the club.

It's another step in the process of turning us into a truly competitive club once more. So much to look forward to!

And there it is. So has anyone started a DoF thread yet or what?

Are people forgetting we've finished bottom half in the last two seasons? If Koeman can take us to where he's taken Southampton in the last two seasons ill be happy! Its all about undoing the damage of the previous reign and rebuilding the Club. Koeman has shown he can do that.

Obviously Emery is/was my preferred choice but its wrong to dismiss Koeman.

Do you think it will be one of Monchi or Overmars, Esk?

I know you led on a bit about Monchi earlier/yesterday

Cant see Koeman convincing Stones and Rom to stay

The bottom line is no manager should have to convince any contracted player to stay if they don't want to, if Rom and Stones want to go then get shot of them for the highest amount possible.
So long as the new manager then gets the funds from the sales to rebuild then I'm happy with it.

Thanks mate your posts have been a boon over the last few weeks really appreciate it and hope the official confirmation comes soon. Koeman would not have been my choice but I'm confident that Moshiri is getting us the best available manager in the market.

So did Emery turn us down then?

So true Esk. Lots to look forward to! Thanks for keeping us updated all the way. You said at the beginning Koeman was number 1 target, and despite us talking to Emery earlier this week, nothing you said ever suggested he was anywhere near a certainty.
