Other fans are saying what a fantastic manager Koeman is and how we have pulled off a master stroke in getting him.

Meanwhile on GOT posters are moaning that he isn't one of the best in Europe.

Can't we enjoy the optimism for once.
He's not one of the best in Europe though. BUT he is a massive upgrade on Martinez and moyes . Just in stature alone .

I'm not fussed either way if he comes or not but if he does I'll back him .

Optimism? Everton? lol

The transfer thread should be interesting this summer. I predict lots of tantrums from those not happy with the quality of signings we make. "We've got money now, we should be signing the likes of Messi and Ronaldo". New money eh. :coffee:

Mate I can't say who we should or not get as manager. I just think for all the money we've not got anything but a safe manager and that's that. No top 4 no change the mentality etc. Top 10 probably will be were we finish.
He just finished 3 points outside the top 4 in his second year at a club who keep selling their best players. In this league - the one we play in.
He has a winning pedigree as a player - has played at the highest level. This is a big improvement for us.

But to come to the PL and do the great job he's done with Southampton - following their mass overhaul of players each summer - is why he was first choice for the job Zat.

Two record points totals in consecutive seasons, two European qualifications. When was the last time we did that?

And all the while, he's done it while learning from his mistakes and also playing a style akin to the good things that RM set in place - as well as not being afraid to introduce youth into the first team ranks.

What youth players has he brought through other than targett?

Where was wanyama going to? Hes not very highly rated by their fans....

He is highly rated by their fans. They just dislike him as he has said he wants to leave to a bigger club and is threatening to run his contract down. He also has quite a poor disciplinary record. But they recognise that he is a very good player and that they are weaker without him.

If we'd offered Mourinho or Pep £25M a year we would have gotten either. If we'd offered Wenger £20M a year he would be with us. I'd have swapped both Lukaku and Stones for the best manager. I smell Bill's penny pinching in this.......we will end up paying £5M a year for someone who will win nothing, whereas getting the right man in would pay for itself with our first trophy........

no, we wouldn't have

Can see a few more twists to come. Still believe Koeman's looking for an improved deal with Southampton.

Think the bookies have made this deal look more of a cert than it really is.

Valencias been unmanagable for a while and emery couldnt win away all season and theres no evidence to suggest he would succeed in the PL

Id just support koeman as hes managed to get soton to europe as a practically a seller club, so imagine what he could do with 100million +

What are you talking about ?

Valencia were 3rd before koeman took them towards relegation and after he was sacked with the players in open revolt emery took them back up to near ths top.

Possibly!

Let us remember Martin O'Neill was 7/4 favourite at one time!

Though Esk has said he has heard it is Koeman.

if Koeman is appointed I'll get behind him. It's what we do, if we win stuff I'll be ecstatic, but this morning I feel like I'd been promised a 3% pay rise and ended up with 1%. I've still got a pay rise but......

Also the next person who refers to Everton as a "project" will be stabbed through the heart with a rusty nail.
