Starting to really grow on me as being our manager, and he had a blue tie on so must be fate.

I remember watching that at the time and that's when I realised that he knew what he was doing.

Zat is banging on about his failure at Valencia and AZ, but he still won trophies and that was 7 seasons ago. He's quite clearly learned from his mistakes - something that our former manager refused to do and therefore lost his job.

Very pleased with Koeman. I think what he achieved at Southampton is excellent. They were only 3 points off the Champions League. I'm sure he'd have got more plaudits this season if all the attention hadn't been on Leicester. I agree that his record before Southampton is spotty but his time at Southampton would suggest that he has learned from his mistakes.

2 defensive midfielders again. YEEERRRRSSSSSS! Loved that system for the last 2 years.

It's different though. That was midway through the season I believe.

Sotton went on a great run in the final five games or so and got into Europe by playing more of a 4-3-3, with Davis and Classe either side of Wanyama.

Aldo told a mate of mine that Everton will be a big danger with Koeman,.......
so if it getting under Aldo's skin,it's fine with me.

Ronald Koeman is favourite with SkyBET to be the next permanent Arsenal Manager (13/2) Loew 8/1, Mancini 8/1, De Boer 12/1, Emery 12/1...

Not entirely sure what this means given that we don't even know when Arsene will pass away but when you are being touted for those kind of jobs as favourite he can't be that bad right?

My personal opinion is that it would be excellent for us, when a clubs fans fume over a player leaving you know he's decent, but to care so much about a manager speaks volumes, very exciting times. Would just like to see it done soon!

Albelda won two La Liga titles with Valencia at the beginning of the 21st century, but they have been unable to replicate those successes in recent years, and the influential midfielder blames former president Juan Soler and head coach Ronald Koeman for their recent slump.

"It really hurts that we can not really compete right now. We had the best team in Spain and had closed the gap with Barcelona and Real Madrid," Albelda was quoted as saying by El Mundo Deportivo.

"However, then president Juan Soler destroyed everything that we had achieved. He fired Quique Sanchez Flores when we were only four points off the pace. The club then appointed Koeman and we were nearly relegated. The club is still recovering from that period.

"We are doing an extraordinary job now if you bear in mind that we constantly have to sell our best players. We have to be inventive in order to return to the top

AZ Alkmaar have dismissed Ronald Koeman following the club's poor start to the Eredivisie season.

AZ have failed to replicate the form enjoyed under Louis van Gaal last season, which saw them win the Dutch title, and a 2-1 home defeat against Vitesse Arnhem last night was the final straw for the club's board.

The loss was AZ's seventh in 16 league games this season and leaves them in sixth place, 16 points behind Steve McLaren's FC Twente and all but out of the title race before Christmas.

AZ also failed to reach the knockout stage of the Champions League under Koeman, while anything less than a win against Standard Liege in midweek will see them fail to gain the consolation of a place in the Europa League.
