Wasn't it more Koeman completely changed his mind after we were getting close to Emery? Like you said...Koeman was always Moshiri's first choice.

I think it would have been an interesting dilemma if he'd come out with an outright yes . I suspect Moshiri & Co did not push Emery when they knew Koeman was back interested.

Interesting. I personally think we were days from getting Emery before Koeman's agent popped up again.

Telegraph reporting Koeman's agreement and that Southampton will go for Eddie Howe.

I rate Howe he's a very young and talented manager who plays terrific football. I think he'd do very well there.

Fast forward 5 years and if Koeman has possibly moved on and Howe has done a great job there, can you imagine the absolute fume if we went there and poached him as our next manager as well lol

that would make this appointment even more satisfying. i like the fact that Moshiri got the man he wanted because obviously it is essential part of his plans for the club.

For what it's worth I think the names Saints will be linked to will be fairly similar to the names you guys were linked to, (Oh merciful god not Moyes). One of our ITK's hinted towards AVB, who was 25-1 and is now 3-1, but FdB is also being touted around. I would laugh if we ended with Emery (unlikely), as we would of got the manager you wanted, and you would of got the manager we wanted!

I think you'll finish outside the top ten next season tbh. Moyes would be a great appointment as well. I'm sure your club is too big and too good for him though...

Problem we would have had with Emery is that he doesn't speak a word of English, people mention pochettino but he COULD speak some English he just played on it to avoid interviews hence why he's fine doing them at Spurs.

Koeman is a fantastic appointment I was jealous watching some of the stuff saints played last season/the results they were getting whilst we were stuck with the clueless one.
