It does need to be confirmed by the end of today.

I can understand Southampton's need to be seen to be playing hardball in the PR battle with their own fans, but when all is said and done, they need a new manager now too, and sharpish.

Surely it suits both parties to get it sorted now, today? We have been patient, and Southampton have made their point.

If it still isn't announced by this evening, people will start to get very twitchy.

I don't think they will. Or maybe some will, but for no good reason. The deal is done. If you notice from the pics, Koeman has splashed out on the Platinum Package all inclusive wristband for his most recent Thompson holiday. No way he'd do that if he wasn't certain he'd be earning £7m a month.

FWIW, I think it will be announced tomorrow.

Love his honesty on the youth players me, more so than the absolute wham that everything is phenomenal,,

But it seems the latest crop aren’t up to scratch.

“I wasn’t impressed, no,” he said. “I look to the development of young players and still they have to learn a lot and [they are] still not on the level what you need for Premier League.

“But that’s young players, they need time, it’s more difficult to come in the first-team ofSouthampton than it was four years ago.”

Koeman revealed that only a few of the academy stars are on his radar for first-team selection and that many are far off the level necessary to play in the top-flight.

“A long way, some, yes,” he said. “For some too long and for some it’s shorter because you have to recognise that Chelsea under-21 had better players.

“That’s normal, they are Chelsea, but final result was 1-0 for Southampton. It’s not all about qualities – it’s about team-work.

“We are looking to the individual development of young players and, of course, Ryan Seager scored a goal. He didn’t start well in the game, but he scored very good goal.

“He’s one of the players who did also some training session with the first-team and to know what the level is to play in the first team.”

He added: “The players that play, Matthew Targett, he is ready to play in the first-team but he’s a little bit unlucky because in front of him is Ryan Bertrand.

“It is an English international player, but he will come, Matthew, I don’t have doubts about that.

“Harrison Reed is close to the first-team.

“The rest? Not so close.”

SSN outside Southampton football ground said they spoke to Southampton officials and they expect statement from everton today.

At wich point Everton would start to look stupid in this matter. Personally I think if it drags beyond tomorrow we've given too much leash to So'ton.

Is it actually happening today?

And once again the ' itk's ; ' go missing.

Not a good sign when it is allowed to drag on and Koeman linked with Lazio, although I doubt he'd have the audacity to reject mohsiri's big money.

Absolutely nothing wrong with any of that - and it backs up the point - for all Southampton fans bang on about their academy (which is great, yes - but ours isn't exactly bad), that this current crop just hasn't got the 'star' players that the likes of Bale, Walcott and Chamberlain were.

Ward-Prowse is a good player, but isn't a superstar. Reed is tidy and Targett has a lot of potential. But that's really the only three that spring to mind.
