Genuine question, why?

Why do we need to return when we've past his era? He went stale for the last 3 years and there is absolutely zero need to even consider him as a candidate. We're heading in a new direction with money to spend. When he spent a good amount - he failed, here and with United.

Why should we not be looking at De Boer? Why does Moyes interest you more than a Koeman? I genuinely can't wrap my head around the idea of him returning. I know I'd swerve it if he did.

What's de boer done apart from win a trophy that Mclaren has? And when has Koeman outperformed Moyes in the prem?

The weeping angel has me entirely unimpressed
Haha...although he looks like zelda's dad off Terahawks & is in serious need of a This Morning makeover...he's definitely still in my top 3!

He did well at Malaga & more so Villarreal...hence why Real Madrid and city went for him.
IMO his current team did well tonight...PRESSING the opposition!!

That word just doesn't seem to exist in Bobby's vocabulary...but we all know which word beginning with 'P' does!!

However he does look like he's been dug up;)

I believe that the manager position has been reviewed since Moshiri became owner and Martinez was always going to be replaced. If you were buying into a club an investing a vast amount of money you would be planning ahead. Remember he had been in talks for 18 months. About the same length of time Martinez has been [Poor language removed]. If it was me investing I would be getting ready to replace Martinez as I would have a higher standard that I would require. During that 18 month period I would have been looking at managers and doing my homework on them. There is a lot of things to look at as well as results and honors achieved. Can I work with them? Dirty Laundry? Do I want a young upcoming manager or experienced one? Premiership experience? What have other clubs in a similar situation done? Who is available? Can I realistically attract them?

I am sure all the people involved in this discussion have been talking about the type of candidate and the candidate they want for a long time now. This is not an easy process. There will be differences but at the end of the day it will be the person putting the money in who will chose. Moshiri full stop.

As for all the candidates stated on here it maybe someone totally out of the blue. Let's talk about the 2 biggest available candidates Mourinho and Pelligrini. As for Mourinho I doubt he will come but let's listen to what he has said publicly. He wants to manage in England. He says he will be in work again in the summer. Pelligrini to me is the more realistic one. He says he wants to stay in England too. So where do they go then in the premiership? Only really 2 big jobs available and they are still occupied Utd and Everton.

As for Martinez not being sacked there are obvious reasons. One is Hillsborough and as respect to the victims and family the board has decided to leave the managers position for better timing. The other is that they are in serious talks with someone else and don't want an open position that would intensify media speculation which could leave them open to others making approaches to that person.

I'd much rather be wrong about him than right

That hasn't exactly prevented Moyes from being one of our top choices, has it? LOL

Well, at least Pellegrini's odds pretty high, but I kinda want someone young, fiery and fairly successful, like Emery. Then again, Juande Ramos also won back to back Europa titles...

I honestly think Moyes has no chance at getting this job. This is just lazy journalism using an old, perceived relationship to generate website clicks.

Won it three consecutive times. It's more his name and what he brings. He's Frank De Boer, he demands respect. Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool have had or have interest in him as their manager, he's a wanted man and we should bring him.

Take a look at his tactics. Pressing and energetic midfield, compact but always looking to get it wide with, and the biggest thing for after watching us under Martinez, the hatred of giving up space. He demands excellence, something we don't do.

Koeman similar, his name, the respect and his tactical beliefs. His Southampton side aren't all that compared to other sides but he's spent well and the players love him. They play some good stuff. They're outperforming themselves at the minute yet he's looking to meet with his board in the summer to lay out his expectations and hopes they back him so they go further up the league? Come on. The man can back up what he wants to do.

They don't beat around the bush, they're honest, they tell it like it is. And yenno what? They're winners.

They're perfect candidates for this job.

Just asking a hypothetical here, but when do you reckon we can remove hypothetical from the title?

Well, hypothetically, if he is sacked, or leaves his job before a replacement is found, then hypothetically we would remove hypothetical from the hypothetical thread title.

Hypothetically.
