People mentioning Mourinho as a possible manager for us are in dream land, anyway I bet he has a job lined up but it just hasn't been disclosed yet.
You are probably correct.
But, how would you feel if it was he who approached us asking about our intentions and not the other way around?

The positive thing about this is that for once we have the resources and the ambition (The Esk) to get a top manager.
Available for no compensation (if they want to come):
Pelligrini, Favre, Mourinho, Bielsa

Possibly available:
Emery, De Boer, Koeman, Cocu.

Obviously there are others but that's not too bad to be going on with and miles better than last time.
The key is to sort out Martinez ASAP and then start working down our list of candidates sharpish and get the new man in quickly.

Thing is with a new manager, they need 2 years in this job to actually do something.

You can't take our squad and suddenly surge up the table like the second coming of the mersey millionaires, it will take time.

I mean our first choice midfielder is 35, there is deadweight in the squad that will need replacing over time, player sales, hopefully players won't take too long to adjust to playing for us/this country, adjusting to get a new system working here when the players are now used to a failed one.

There is a lot of factors that some managers may take into consideration, pellegrini for example may not want to swap league contenders for having to rebuild a team so quickly. whereas a De Boer / emery / AVB will be more suited to come in and do that, knowing they have job security as long as we arent bottom at january with like 5 points lol

Not at all. I never actually wanted Martinez in the first place. I said as much in here during the summer we appointed him, if I recall correctly.

But yeah, I was backing Martinez up until last week. Don't attack me for having a bit of patience and supporting OUR manager. But yeah, even I've lost patience now.

If we're gonna spend mega bucks on players, then sure, get Jose or Simeone. If however, as I suspect, that we're gonna be relatively prudent, whilst looking to build a new stadium, then I'd much rather go with Moyes than some of the other names being bandied about.

A manager that won nothing on 11 years when there are proven winners out there, I guess we just have different aspirations and hopes for the club.

The fact that you are even mentioning Simeone in here suggests to me you are not that clued up.

In theory with Moshiri at the helm it should be possible to speed up a transition for a new manager.

It's not like most of the deadwood has had huge involvement, but yeah there are lots of players that need binning off and replacing.

Pellegrini is not coming to Everton you melts

Manuel Pellegrini admits he could be tempted to stay in the Premier League after he leaves Manchester City – if he is offered the right ‘project’.

The Chilean will be replaced by Pep Guardiola at City this summer after three years in charge at the Etihad Stadium, winning the league title in 2013/14.

The 62-year-old has enjoyed his time in England and would be open to staying in the Premier League, even if it means taking over a club that do not boast a similar wealth of resources.

"It depends on the mentality of the manager," he said. "I always remember when I finished with Real Madrid, I had a lot of different options and I chose Malaga because the project was interesting.

"It doesn't matter which club you are going to, whether it's a big or a small team, it depends on the project of the club and what they want to develop at the club and the players you can bring to the club.

"There are a lot of interesting things here in England because all the clubs have money to have a good project, so surely a lot of managers will be interested in a lot of clubs."

That is what i mean. Clubs who sign players on mass tend to struggle trying to fit them all in. Right now, he need to replace at least 5 off the top of my head, and they are just squad players. Plus personally i would rather see the club invest in quality over quantity which will again be a slow process. signing a goalkeeper / central midfielder / winger for arguments sake i'd rathe rus see spend a bit more to get both the new managers choice and somone better than what we have. As long as we move up the table, do that over the space of 3 years, just buying better quality and before we know it the side will be competitive with anyone in the league.

that is what i think anyway.

Old chinese proverb....
Football is circle.
Football goes in circles.
Everton had they're time in sun
They have to work for it to come
Its not a right.....
Its about fight !!
Look at leicester...
Full of jesters
But hard work and dedication
Has proved every f****** wrong !!!!
Hmm...not heard that one mateo_O
I prefer....Man who goes to bed with itchy bum....will wake with smelly fingers!

Pellegrini is not coming to Everton you melts
I not that keen on him coming Anyways tbh. The squad he inherited at man city had one of the best keepers in the league in, two of the best midfielders, two of the best strikers and two of the best defenders. Here he will have Lukaku and ....

why not? and why so implausible?

Pellegrini would be an amazing capture IMO. He handles himself really well and is always dignified despite all the pressure he has been under at City since day one. Keeping that squad of players happy cant be an easy job and he would also be able to attract that champions league standard player. Could take us on to the next level !!
