Martin O'Neill has come in very strongly and suddenly with the bookies.

They haven't got a clue mate, truth is nothing seems to be filtering down from the board about what direction they want to take so people are just guessing based on rumours and hearsay.

Jose winning trophies and titles with Everton would enhance his reputation above and beyond any of his current trophies bar the Porto EL win. It could be tempting for him from that perspective

This is what I've thought. Plus he'd LOVE the fact that everyone's main criticism of Guardiola is he only takes over teams that are already at the top - i.e., 'easy' jobs - while he, Mourinho, can just decide to win silverware with Everton and be successful doing it. It'd be such a middle finger.

Looking at the league as is 'should' look going into next season

Arsenal - Wenger in his last year on the job, he isn't going to change all of a sudden and so Arsenal will most likely be like they have been every year for the past 10, fighting it out for 3rd/4th not the title

Spurs - look the best bet to keep up their progression, but with CL games and the intensity they play at it will take its toll on them mounting another league challenge

Chelsea - Conte coming in whose completely new to the league and with a squad that mutinied on the last manager, style of play massively different from what the team was built around, so major rebuilding and testing time ahead for him

Man United - IF they stay with LVG, younger players will develop but it's still LVG with all his flaws and after two seasons they look no further to being back than they where under Moyes

Liverpool - Klopp hasn't been able to get his system to wrok with any consistancy so far in this league, next year will be a testing one and his first taste of some pressure as most give him a pass this season in the league, major quad overhaul likely

City - New man coming in - most likely gonna spend massive amounts and buy half a new starting 11, how long it takes pep to get used to this league though will determing how they do

Leicester - CL will massively impact them in the league, and can they possibly perform for another season like they managed this year, even a 5% dip in intensity will see them around the level of Saints this season

Saints, West Ham etc - will either have the added euro games to deal with or else added pressure all season for them both

lots are saying that next year the normal 'order' will be re-etablished, and this year was the missed opportunity for a team like us to do something etc, looking at all the other teams who are around the top places, could see another year very like this, especially is Guardiola takes some time to get accustomed to the league.

Mourinho isn't a stupid man by a long shot, IF the United job isn't their then he will look at this league and realise that if he takes over a team with a solid squad, is given investment and with the impact he himself will have on everything around the club then he could maybe see the opportunity to do something 'special' here next year.

All said and done, imagine the effect Mourinho will have standing by the dugout as Everton Manager on the atmosphere at Goodison, will instantly transform it from a place teams are looking forward to coming back into the horrible place teams used to dread having to come too

Don't think Mourinho will come to us but can see us being a very very attractive proposition for any manager.
Nucleas of a good young squad if they can be kept sprinkle that with a few top quality signings and no real expectations, except from us lot would be very tempting.

TBH the only person that needs to be impressed is Jose Mourinhio and no one else, if Morshiri can convince him to join with the promise of cash he may be tempted as from what I have heard he wants to stay in England.

For those who question why he would go to Everton need to ask why he went to Chelsea, smaller club with cr@p history spending most of its existence in the lower leagues ?

Its the project mate...the vision to where they want to be and the resources to do it

He had it at Chelsea and now could have it at Everton. Not saying he will join but its not as unrealistic as it's been made out.

I was saying this the other day, people, basically the media forget that Chelsea was a nothing club until 2005, they hadn't won the league for 50 years until mourhino backed by abramovich turned them into a 'big club' it seems there 10 years of success out weighs our many years of success, remembering football only began in 1992 it's easy to see why a lot of the media and younger people today don't understand this

I think after being sacked by Chelsea, it would do mourhino good to come to club in similar circumstances to Chelsea of 2005 (new money) and prove he's the real deal, and then we can watch him do a Claudio

:D
