What? 3 years ago was a completely different era?

In terms of the amount of money in the league, yes, it was a huge difference.

The massive TV money started to take effect from Moyes's last season/RM's first season, pretty much, so 2013...

Surely that has made it easier though, as it has given clubs a lot of money to be able to compete?

There's that side of the argument.

But, there's also that because of that it is so much more difficult to sustain it...

The 'money clubs' can still afford to pay loads more, but the other clubs like WHam, Spurs, Sotton, Leicester (this season), heck even Stoke, have now got the money to go for the top six positions.

So to be able to get the best out of a side that - out of all of those sides above - has spent the least of that money while consistently selling their better players, reflects on the great job Koeman is doing.

Why would Koeman leave Southampton to come here? Sadly we're seen in the same light as them in this day and age. It'd be a sideways step.

De Boer is a pure myth, finishing 2nd at Ajax is like finishing 2nd with the Old Firm, couldn't beat Rapid Vienna in CL qualifying either.

I've never been on the De Boer bandwagon almost impossible to not challenge at Ajax and he's done worse than many before him.
He's not my first choice but to say he's done worse than many before just isn't true. He won four on the bounce which no one else has managed.
