as long as there is a glimmer of hope we can still dream.

tbh I've been thinking about it for a few days and calmed down now after our latest abysmal performance. The majority of us would love Mourinho but in simple terms, any manager who is competent at setting up a team to be able to defend and work on set pieces is going to be a 100% improvement on what we've endured the past few months.

I'm open minded to the likes of Koeman and De Boer, my preferred one was Pellegrini so I'm open to that and of course Mourinho. I would say De Boer would be the biggest risk but sometimes that's what you gotta do. Mourinho would drag us up to a level we haven't witnessed for over 25 years, would leave us walking 10ft tall if that announcement was made, physchologically the boost would be immense.

Whoever we get, we will get behind them 100%...................as long as it's not Moyes!!

Undeniably a winner and it's what we all want for the club but... just something inside me makes me want us to miss out on Jose. I fear long term repercussions and I worry the kids will just get completely shut out.

No doubt given his experience.

Problem is (a) ex-rs (b) "small club" jibe (c) VERY defensive and possibly a return to the Moyes era complaints (d) have not met the heights of Valencia and rs since (e) no longevity in previous clubs

He would be our "desperation" pick if anything, and even Moyes would be ahead of him for that.

The irony is Jose belittled the club many a time too but is swept under the carpet

it's a good point mate BUT the way I see it his rep has been tarnished somewhat since his shenanigans at Chelsea.

I bet if you had asked anyone would Mourinho be out of a job for half a year a few years back no one would believe you. If I was him I would be a little pissed off utd have dragged their heels as let's be honest LVG should have been sacked at Christmas.

So I think he almost has to rebuild a bit of his rep, fix that ego of his, show people he isn't just about spending millions, mixing youth with top drawer purchases. Maybe not, maybe he will end up at the mancs and spunk 300m this summer. He ain't gonna get close to the love or record of Ferguson though who will always be looking over his shoulder.

He said he wanted to go to a place where he will be loved. Well, there's a place in L4 where he would be idolised imo

tv cameras scan the crowd during today's game, jose's face comes on the screen in the ground, goodison erupts. Typical last day match crowd reaction when something great happens , shown on MOTD ha ha.

Yeh I mean if he buys into the club and the structure and puts out a team full of Evertonians (personally dreaming of a day our academy creates a first XI) then yeh I'd love him in because he's a character and he knows how to defend and win. He just doesn't seem to stay anywhere very long and I wouldn't want someone to come in for 2 years to mess with things then leave for someone to pick up what's left. Time will tell but I still foresee him going to United.

I see that Jose is the default if their choices turn them down like Pochettino, there are also one or two more on the list, Blanc is for one.

This is why Jose constantly pushes through the Press for the job now. The Everton have more chance than the 5% but Jose will want the Champions league and hundreds of transfer pounds to throw around so it is also still unlikely.
Bill Kenwtight (typo and it stays) will be on the blower immediately!
