Question for the cooler more patient heads: Do the Euros and other factors at other clubs make it more likely that we will move quickly or is it just as likely that this will drag out? For instance, will Koeman and Everton feel pressure to resolve this one way or the other because of his contract talks with Saints? Or is it just as likely that they will stretch out?

I think with Koeman the longer it goes on, the more likely we are to get him.

If he's still not signed a contract by the end of June, he'll be ours.

For the long of God man. My nerves will never take it. Is that the realistic timeline we're on?

I think United's failure to land 4th, will see LVG being replaced by mourinho. To answer your question both benetiz(we don't want him anyway) and koeman have both got meetings with their respective boards this week. Who knows why this is? Due to the euros or because Everton have an attractive job opportunity with a new owner looking to invest. I'd like to think it's because of us and I can see our new manager being in place before the start of the euros. If koeman gets the guarantees he wants, I can see us going for De boer.

Personally, I'd rather get it right and take the time necessary. As long as they are in before pre season. Well, I'd want it to be very early July by the latest.

Plans can be made and discussions had before an appointment is made.

Let's put it this way, if Mourinho is first choice, I think we'd have to wait until his deadline has passed.

"I still have a one-year contract," he said after the match. "I spoke to the board and we had the meeting and it's always my wish to stay because I like the club, fans and players.

"We understand every time its (the ambition) more difficult because we need to improve, and expectation will be higher than it was two years ago and if we have the same ambition again then no problem.

"But the club likes to talk about the future. I had always in Holland a one-year contract. I'm not so worried about the future. If the club likes to know about the future after next season, okay that's what we'll talk about.

"Our finishing this season is stronger than last season. What we did this season, it's maybe more than the maximum we can do as a team, and a big compliment to the players."

---

But, at the end of the interview he says 'they show in the planning they show the ambition, but I like to hear what's the ambition and how we can reach that ambition, and that's all about sometimes money'

De Boer in!

I think we will want assurances earlier than that. Even for someone like mourinho, we can't afford to wait that long as other potential managers (koeman) might have signed new contract extensions or found new clubs (de boer).
