Not sure if already posted - at work so no time to search the thread!! From yesterday......

De Boer's twin brother, Ronald, has made it clear that Everton are currently leading the race to secure the services of the former Barcelona player.

"Frank is very much interested in the job," Ronald de Boer said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show.

"He has taken his coaching career step by step. He started with the Under 12s, then the Under 19s and then he took over from Martin Jol (as senior Ajax boss).

"He is now ready for the next step. Frank has already showed with his five and a half years at Ajax he brings something extra into the game.

"The Everton board, of course, have to agree with it and there are a lot of other candidates who are capable of doing the job. We will wait and see."

According to a Swiss football reporter Everton were in contact with confidants of Lucien Favre. The reporter also states that Favre turned Marseille and Nice Jobs down and that he's third choice behind Koeman and De Boer.

Have you got a link for the third choice bit?

Delighted he's being considered. Horrified he's behind de Boer.

done my research on Lucien Favre, he looks very interesting, would be his most notable appointment if he joined.

has always had success, brought middle to lower placed teams to the top. champions league in Bundesliga. he has twice left clubs due to "recruitment issues" after his players were plucked the following season.

Plays fast team counter attacking via short passes, beofre they have time to adjust. and pressure teams aggressively to win back ball when defending.

Cocktail shaker at the Batley & Grimethorpe Working Man's Club. And he'd have turned a pretty penny with his
slippery Nipple.
was Bernard Manning a feature there...or am I getting confused with the Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Working Man's Club?

...BY ORDER OF THE COMMITTEE!!

Sounds lovely.

The issue with managers is you can't become an expert on them after a 2 minute YouTube scouting sesh, unlike players.

Actually with the amount of tactical analysis and in-depth articles about managers these days it's a lot easier to get a handle on what a manager is like than a player.

Apparently also a masterful organiser of defences....

Would love Favre myself but I am deeply concerned about the fact he just got up and left Monchengladbach after a rocky start. Think it was 6 losses in the opening games? Bit concerned about his mental strength in that regard. Do think he'd be a good appointment though.
