He doesn't even have managerial experience, How can people even consider him, If he had no previous connection to the club and it was Joe Bloggs people would be fuming at the idea of some assistant with no experience being manager.
Yeah but he DOES have a link to the club, but more importantly the best manager in the world has had him under his wing for 3 1/2 years. He doesn't even have managerial experience, How can people even consider him, If he had no previous connection to the club and it was Joe Bloggs people would be fuming at the idea of some assistant with no experience being manager.
Because some people are dumb enough that they actually believed that kopite text message that was doing the rounds and put money on itMark Hughes is evens favourite with a couple of bookies to be next manager , I think I'd rather keep Silva ..

So many assistant managers that people thought would be good managers, Brian Kidd under Fergie, was expected to be a very good manager, never worked, Alan Irvine under Moyes. Only 2 examples and there are successes of course but it's a risk, more of a risk than getting a known entity.
Any manager you hire. Literally any manager, comes with an element of risk.
There's not a manager in world football you could point to that there would be no reservations about, no naysayers.
Guardiola - 'Well he's only done it with massive clubs and a bottomless pit of money hasn't he?!'
Mourinho - 'Was awful at United and has perhaps lost some of his hunger now he's proven himself'
Zidane / Wenger - 'He's only done it at one club'
Ten Hag - 'He's only done it in Holland, hasn't managed it in a top league'
Ancelotti - 'He only sticks around for 18 months and then moves on'
There will always be a reason not to get someone. For me, the next manager has to be more about culture fit than historical success. That's just my opinion.
I'm not fussed about whether they've won trophies elsewhere, that's a very elite group and most of them are out of our reach anyway.
I want someone hungry, with something to prove, that 'gets' us as a club. We need a personality, a philosophy that we can buy into.
I think that's why people are so sold on the passion of people like Conte, Simeone, Mancini etc, beyond just their obvious silverware.
It's more about how they reinvigorate the club. For that purpose, their rhetoric is really important, perhaps more important than their CV.
Did you not read the bit where I said it was a risk, a bigger risk than a known entity?Or did you just want to write another long boring post, that missed my point?
Wow, why so hostile?
I wasn't disputing your post. An assistant manager is a risk. An established manager is a risk. However we decide to dress it up.
Because you're first line, disputing my post, was...exactly what I said. You like rubbing everyone up the wrong way don't you.
You are getting quite a lot of hostility, maybe think about that!
I literally wasn't disputing your post, I was agreeing with it and adding to it. All managers represent a risk.
Perhaps so, there's no conscious effort to antagonise (perhaps I just have a natural flair for it). I certainly didn't mean to 'rub you up the wrong way' and apologise if I did.
