Rafael, won trophies at Valencia, Chelsea, Napoli and Liverpool. People need to get over the fact he managed LFC and look at his record. At Newcastle he never had a penny to spend as well as a falling out with the owner. He did well keeping them up and well away from relegation.

Where he is in Chinese league is irrelevant, it’s a joke league for managers to go and earn big money whilst doing the bear minimum.

He took over them with a handful of games to go and got relegated. He wasn't responsible for that mess, that was McLaren.

In terms of expenditure, he spent comparatively less than the rest of the league and got Newcastle punching well above their weight.

Bruce has come in and was immediately given far more than what he ever had to spend in a summer.

We don't show ambition in how we behave as a club 99% of the time. We accept mediocrity from top to bottom.

Why would that change when it comes to appointing a manager?

If we actually had ambition, a top manager would be here by now. The club have no plan.
