he looks like he has more of a brain than Newton, and definitely more of a brain than Allen. Not to me. The issue with Hurts, and I have seen the comparison before, but there is a slight whiff of the Cam Newtons off him. The Eagles shouldn't be running him as much as they do. He's got a very good arm, can scramble in tough situations and is clearly a mature guy with great leadership skills. But if they keep playing him the way they are now, he will be ground down sooner rather than later. Burrow will be there or thereabouts for years to come. But if Siriani insists on putting his prize asset in those rugby scrums and exposing him to hits, his shelf life at the level he played at last night will be very short
They're waiting for slappy to turn up...Have the Philly fans smashed up the place yet?
Congrats! Who was QB back then? Steve DeBerg?Supported the Chiefs since 1988
So yes I’ve seen the dark days
So long as it wasn't chris... (shudders*)Congrats! Who was QB back then? Steve DeBerg?
yes de berg, followed by Krieg, then a nice interruption with Montana and then back to the dark days with Bono and Grbac. Vermeil offered some respite in the early-mid 2000s then we had the darkest of dark days with Scott Pioil as GM before Reid steadied the ship with Alex Smith and then Mahomes took it to dynasty level of accomplishment.Congrats! How can anyone possibly make this claim? I mean Mahomes is probably the best QB in the league, and he showed his greatness putting a team that was being outplayed and gifted a defensive TD on his back in the second half. That's what great players do.Hurts is tough no doubt but he lacks the explosiveness of Mahomes
I think it showed in the end
Second half 11 points for Hurts - the Eagles simply moved the ball too slowly as well, although that was a coaching decision to run down the clock so not his fault. How can anyone possibly make this claim? I mean Mahomes is probably the best QB in the league, and he showed his greatness putting a team that was being outplayed and gifted a defensive TD on his back in the second half. But Hurts literally waltzed down the field to tie it up at 35. Then there was a Reid masterclass running clock so Philly didn't get the ball back. And still, they needed a questionable holding call to end the game. Without that call, on a play where Mahomes was for all realistic intents and purposes throwing the ball away b/c his line got beaten up the middle, Hurts is getting the ball down 3 with over a minute and a half remaining and at least one time out.
Is there anything on earth who actually watched the game who didn't think the Eagles at worst were going to have a realistic FG attempt to put it into OT?
How can anyone possibly make this claim?
The claim that Mahomes is better than Hurts?Have you considered who is making it?
I agree with that. Kelce is indeed magnificent (although a completely tosser) but as he is essentially a WR, he will never get anywhere near Rice's records. What's more, its infinitely and indisputably an easier game these days, back in the 70's and 80's, real athletes played the game, plus, it was a full contact sport where you were (especially) allowed to tackle/challenge a WR without getting called for tiny little nudge or accidently running into someone and getting called for holding.I actually think that's a reasonable comparison.
Kelce is the best TE to play the game, when looking at the receiving part of being a TE. You can't really pull him up on his blocking because Reid's scheme never uses him as a blocker - he is essentially a WR, and even lines up out wide on a regular basis. His impact in the passing game is ridiculous - better than many true WRs.
