People gonna forget that if the niners converted that touchdown they would have won by 1

No idea how he missed the conversion I thought they were always guaranteed

So 1 in 20, roughly, is a miss.

You can say that to miss a kick with those kinds of odds in the title game is a choke, but anyone who’s watched a lifetime of sport knows that nothing is 100%

Looking at the NFL MVP award and it’s clearly been debased by Lamar’s victory

The awards should be based on the full season not just the regular season. The regular season matters only to put you in a position to make a run to win the championship. The real greats step up and play great when the stakes are highest like in the final drive in the 4th quarter and the OT touchdown drive.

Rodgers and Lamar don’t mean anything in the scheme of things when they dominate the weekly rounds then crap the bed in the playoffs.

Have a playoff MVP if you want, it’s a silly way to do it otherwise. They give out a trophy to the players who have the best playoffs too already though, it’s a shiny silver one that you may have seen the Chiefs holding last night.

Good morning ladies.

And what a glorious morning it is.

We’ve witnessed the footballing equivalent of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in Patrick Mahomes these last few years.

He is so far above ANY quarterback that has ever played the game.

I would now go further and say he is the greatest player that has ever played at any position.

Let’s not forget that Brady lost to Nick Foles and Eli Manning a total of 3 times.
I'm a big fan of Mahomes but after Brady's win at the Buccaneers, it's almost impossible to see how he can ever get higher than 2nd best.

I'd love to see it personally.

But for Brady, at 43, to go to the Bucaneers in his first season with them underdogs and then hammer the Chiefs in the Superbowl just cements him as the greatest.

Mahomes will probably struggle to get to 6 Superbowls, let alone 7.

It's a different sport, but feels similar to Cristiano Ronaldo going back to Man United after Juventus and leading them to a CL win in his late 30s.

reminds me of that south african fella who closed down a conversion in the rugby world cup match against france where they won by 1 point

These awards are stupid anyway, I mean just look at Myles Garrett winning DPOY and you see that so many times with these awards it just becomes voter fatigue and people want different guys to win them every year. I mean in no world is Lamar a better QB than Mahomes, and you could argue Mahomes is even more important to his team than Lamar.

A bunch of my mates and I were just talking about this with the NBA MVP. I mean LeBron somehow only has 4. That's objectively ridiculous no matter how you slice it. He could have won 10 straight league MVPs. But voters are always looking to give different guys the award. They are only meaningful to a point.

Re: Myles Garrett, you can come up with any number of fake stats to prove whatever narrative you want. He's a good player, and I think ultimately the award went to the best player on the best defense in the NFL for most of the year. But to say that Watt somehow padded stats or his actual production somehow matters less than a guy who "got double teamed" more is utterly ridiculous. The Steelers record without Watt speaks for itself

The LeBron argument is crazy man, the games have to matter and LeBron was not playing MVP level in many of those seasons even if we all know he absolutely could have if he wanted to. Mahomes didn’t this year and was rightly nowhere near the MVP.

It's the NBA mate. Pretty much the whole purpose of their regular season is for the games not to matter
