Get in Rams fecking nice one. Massive first down play by Goff and then Anderson. What a pickup he was. The Panthers and Raiders must be asking themselves why they didn't see or get anything from him.

There is a dude on Seahawks Twitter who writes for The Athletic that will happily tell you Gurley is massively overrated and that running backs don't matter...they are products of the scheme. CJ Anderson is proving him right. He has a mountain of data.

Kareem Hunt being seemlessly replaced in KC makes the argument even more compelling.

You lost me at Seahawks twitter hahahaha!!!

He just sounds bitter haha!!

In all seriousness though fair play to that dude for having all of that time to make his case. american sports are all about stats and hence why a lot of guys get missed in the NFL draft.

Sure the Oakland A's fell flat on the whole money ball thing because of their believe in reading stats.

Does that mean he believes Pete Carroll is all about schemes also and that most of them don't work? And if it wasn't for the superb talent of Wilson they would look hell of a lot worse?

A lot of very likeable teams still In this
Saints because of Bree’s
Chargers and Rivers
The rams
And obviously the chiefs

Can’t decide who I want to win it . Even the eagles and Foles story would be great . Anyone but the pats basically and I love Belichick
chief for me, just for mahomes

Any team with an above-average O-line can make an average RB look excellent within the system.

The REALLY good RBs are the ones who produce behind poor O-lines, or in offences with no appreciable passing threat.

Clever teams invest in their O-lines and don't overpay for RBs.

I struggle to make conclusions from his data/research. He firmly believes that running backs don't matter. QB and OL matter. He has a mountain of data to back it up.

I am starting to come around...especially after seeing the likes of Le'Veon Bell, Kareem Hunt, and Todd Gurley seemlessly replaced.

There are a whole bunch of people who say that taking a RB in the first round of the draft now makes no sense because of how easy it is to find good ones later on. Even a player as good as Barkley still has a whole host of critics over the pick because they could have gotten Quinton Nelson and then say Kerryon Johnson or Chubb the next round and been just as effective if not more so running the ball.

Even looking at my team who got production out of Gus Edwards who finished training camp as the fifth string running back. I'd go along with the idea that the scheme, QB and line are more important.

Oh there is no doubt that the guy I am talking about (Ben Baldwin is his name) absolutely believes draft capital is wasted on running backs.

His biggest knock against a guy like Gurley is that because of scheme he gains some of the easiest yards going. Like the holes are gaping and he's not creating much on his own...hence why a guy like CJ Anderson also looks like a generational talent as his replacement.

I think back to the year Shaun Alexander's MVP season in 2005, and have to wonder how much of that was due to having two all time greats in Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson blocking for him. I wonder how differently things would have turned out if Seattle signed Hutch and let Alexander go in free agency...we'll never know.

The chiefs probably have my favourite fans in the NFL after the browns and bills
I hate to break this to you but Sam Quek ( GB hockey Olympic winner , kopite from Heswall ,) is a chiefs supporter because they remind her of the RS !. I’m a glory hunter Dolphins fan from the Merino/ Shula days but I used to watch The Wirral Wolves home and away . (WOOL)
