NFL Thread 2018

Rubbish, basically came down to a coin toss
Ot rules are crap. Other team should get a chance to answer regardless. So dumb it comes down to a coin toss

Itd be like a penalty shoot out only letting the team who won the toss kick and if they make the first pen its over

Exactly what I said when watching the Saints/Rams last night.

I like the nfl OT rules. if both teams get the ball then teams that win the coin toss can just defer and have an advantage. they march right down the field on you and score a TD you probably deserve to lose.

if you hold them to a FG you have all 4 downs to get 1st downs because you know you have to score and if you stop them all you need is a FG to win it. It actually balances itself out nicely. The game only ends on a TD in the 1st possession, so play some damn defense, or don't get your behind handed to you in the 1st half, or you know double Gronk when he's split out wide, or win it in regulation. trust me if both teams are guarenteed the ball its a huge advantage for the team that gets the ball 2nd. A bigger advantage than the current setup.

None of this is relevant to whether the OT rules are fair though. Also, what about the end of the Saints game, where they we argueably only in OT due to a blown call? What if they lost the toss and then the Rams scored on the first possesion?

How can either of these be more of an advantage than the opportunity to score that the opposition has no option of replying to?

I kinda see it like the team who wins the toss gets 5 pens in a row and if one was missed or saved, the opposition get a go.
Still tho, the Chiefs prob should have had one shot at responding.
On to the superbowl!

Not necessarily. If the team getting the ball first gets a TD, all the pressure is on the other team. I like the OT method they use in US college football -- each team starts its possession at the opponents' 25-yard line. If still tied, they flip the order of possession and so on until there's a winner. And after the second OT round, teams must go for a two-point convert on TDs.

Bears in London

If anyone is interested in tickets for any other games a bit cheaper than face let me know. 2 tickets spare for the other 3

@Toast will testify it’s legit .

Hugely disappointing that.

Bring over the Rams and they're against the Bengals. Bring over the Bears, and pit them against the Raiders.

Christ sake.

2 Divisional Matchups will be fun though.

You get the Khalil Mack vs Gruden angle. I wouldn't write off the Bengals yet. They were decent this year until half the team got hurt.
