Rothelisberger, Mahomes, Rodgers, Brees, Brady - Brady has been to so many SBs that he kind of skews it. However what an excellent QB does for you is get you into the playoffs almost every year. Usually teams that are really good w/o one, can win it, they just don't have a long shelf life.

49ers probably should have won it last year and Garrouploufous is mediocre. No one would have been shocked if Tenneesee would have won the SB this year and Tannehill is slightly better than avg. Even this year, Brady was pretty bad in the NFC championship was also a fringe top 10 QB throughout the season.
There is a line of competence you need your QB to reach. But once the guy is to that line the rest of the team matters a whole lot. Tampa Bay this season: Top 3 defense, great offensive line and maybe the best set of receivers in the whole league. KC the last two years has had an above average defense and oline while also being a contender for best weapons in the league. SF last year had a top 3 defense, amazing run game and some damn good receivers too.

I can keep going but I think the point is made. I'm trying to think of a team where the QB really carried them all the way to a championship and the best answer I have for that is 2009 Brees where the Saints defense was at best below average and his weapons were pretty nondescript outside of Marques Colston. It just doesn't really happen that much because despite the quarterback incessant culture the NFL has developed teams still win games and championships.

Mahomes looked like Messi trying to drag Argentina to the World Cup, absolutely no help from his teammates and they expected him to do everything
Mahomes is better than Messi. Qb's also have a disproportionate impact though for one position in an 11 a side game

True. Tannehill isn't a stud QB, but he's pretty good in that offense, with a great game. One could make the case that if Tennessee had even an average defense they could have won it all - that defense though, my god.

I love the Packers, I love Rodgers but I wouldn't hold anything against him if he somehow managed to get traded even if it was to the Pats.

He's been let down numerous times by the wider org in terms of the team around him.

If anything is going to happen with Rodgers it has to be in the next few hours. I don't see any way they go into the season with Love at QB and they will need a top 5 pick to get someone.

If the Bengals somehow fail to draft Penei Sewell tonight I will stick needles in my eyes. If I read one more article about Joe Burrow advocating for a wide receiver in the first round... that's Joe Burrow who is currently rehabbing a season-ending knee injury, suffered whilst running for his life all of last season due to the Bengals OL being largely incapable of maintaining any semblance of pass protection. it's as if stupid is contagious.
