Yes, that's right. The Jets also used to have their training camp on Long Island at Hofstra. Not sure if that's still the case. Growing up folks tended to be either Mets/Jets/Isles or Yankees/Giants/Rangers. Im in that first camp so it's been tough 25 years or so. Luckily, the Yankees are crap again, the Isles are good and there's some hope for the Mets.In knowing the New Yorkers I know, the Jets best area is Long Island and North Jersey. Lots of New Yorkers out there, and each one has five opinions about everything. YMMV.

"Sometimes, it's tough to pick a team to root for. So why not just ask the teams?
That's exactly what 12-year-old Cade Pope did.
The sixth-grader from Oklahoma wrote a letter to every owner of every NFL team asking who he should support. Of the 32 teams, only one responded.
Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson sent Cade a handwritten letter that stated, "Cade, we would be honored if our Carolina Panthers became your team. We would make you proud by the classy way we represent you."
The letter also came with a replica Panthers helmet signed by Pro Bowl linebacker Luke Kuechly.
"If this is the only team that responds to me, I'm a Carolina Panthers fan," said Pope."
Great story. If I didn't already hate the Panthers, that would make me like them quite a bit.
Yeah, the Islanders have been pretty forgettable over the last 20 years or so but that streak of 4 Cups in a row is still incredible. Islanders-Rangers is one of the underrated rivalries in American sports (Rangers fans still have a Denis Potvin chant). Tomorrow night should be interesting. Could see another playoff series this year.Forgot the Islanders! Hope you guys see a return to Mike Bossy days. Glad you dumped those crap jerseys with the Morton's fisherman, but I also favor the old design because that was on my table-top hockey game.

Disagree. From what I can tell The Giants are New Jersey's team, and the Jets are still New York's team even though they play in the same stadium. It's not unlike the Merseyside situation. I have no idea how a New Yorker picks one team or the other.
Just to point out I haven't chosen the Bears 100% yet.
I sort of want to like The Jets but can't find a reason to!
Yeah but![]()
So Jets it is I think.
Yeah but

So...

I'm sure Bill Simmons did a thing on How to pick an NFL team, but I may be confusing that with the recent How to pick a Soccer (sic) team article... either way I couldn't find it...
