Still, Carroll...

Brady and Montana are the list, but he doesn't top Montana for me. 4 appearances, 4 wins, 11 TDs, 0 INTs.
Maybe it's an American versus British pov, but I think we over here would see getting to another 2 SBs as well as winning 4 is more noteworthy that reaching four and winning them all; maybe the attitude over there is that 'he lost two' and that's imperfection, so Montana gets the nod over Brady. Also, there'll be a generational thing: it's hard for those who've always seen Montana as untouchable to come to terms with his status being challenged or surpassed?

And SpyGate, People always say that the Pats legacy with Brady and Bill are tarnished because of the "cheating"

It's a joke. Sports teams have always tried to gain an advantage by gathering info and they always will. Just sour grapes. The Ravens two seasons ago had a player who almost definitely murdered someone on their team aiding their victory.

I know which one I find more shocking.

I get the sense the accolade is being held back until this deflategate stuff is squared away.

What you've got to look at as well, this is a Pats team without any out and out superstars, with the possible exception of Gronk. It's a team put together with sensible free agent signings and good scouting at the draft.

A team like that needs good leadership and that's where Brady excels. Look at the 89 yard drive for the second score, mixed it up perfectly with running the ball and short quick passes to make first downs.

Honestly think in 10 years, people will look at Brady as all round, the best QB ever.

Well...there is that Brady feller.

It's a good debate, no doubt. @ilikecheese makes a good point about them being in different eras. For Montana's support, he was perfect and got better with every chance. He won young and old and should have won a 5th if SF hadn't displaced him and wn it with Steve Young. Brady's accomplishments in the current era are remarkable. As evidenced last night, sometimes winning and losing is simply not in your hands.

Surely makes Brady the best ever QB?

6 Super Bowls 4 victories - first and last(?) 13 years apart.
Has to go past Montana to the top of the list.
Think he has to be considered for this. Those Niners teams were stacked- Roger Craig, Jerry Rice, and Ronnie Lott, etc. Brady has won four Super Bowls with lesser talent within a system where building a dynasty has become more difficult than in the 80s.
