Just move the Raiders to Newcastle and be done with it.

Ask yourself what group of NFL fans would be the ones most likely to punch a mounted cop's horse?

Whenever I meet a new Raider fan I ask what's on their rap sheet.

The NFL sends mostly crap to the UK. It's almost arrogant that they think people will fall in love with the league despite the quality of the product they put on the field. From what I understand too, there are not many broadcast rights given to your networks. So you get our national televised games which would start at midnight or later over there.
I don't think it's necessarily arrogant, one of the teams playing in each London game has to give up a home game which I think plays a role. Jacksonville has been there so frequently mainly due to their owner also owning Fulham so having the London connection and getting poor attendance in Jacksonville so they're amicable to giving up a home game. Jets- Dolphins was expected to be a big game heading into the season but Philbin happened. The Lions are just atrocious though.

But these Steelers unis can do one

Watched that the other day and was wondering wtf they were wearing. Those 'jerseys' should be burned, along with whoever designed them!

Is it to do with their 'history' and status that they get sent over. I remember them being massive when I was growing up and getting into NFL. Kinda like sending over a 2000s L'poo team...

Put it this way.... If the NFL wants to expand to make a UK franchise for example, how many British fans would stop supporting the team theyve supported for years? Not many. It would and will fail.

Are you under the impression fans in LA or Portland or any US city without an NFL franchise are going about their business refusing to align with any teams? Why would it be any more difficult for fans in London to adopt a new team than any US (or even Canadian or Mexican) city?

I love when people crap on the idea of a team in the UK as if it's the most ludicrous thing in the world and then in the same breath talk about LA -- a city which has had and failed to keep a team before -- getting another shot as if that's a sure thing success story waiting to happen.

twickenham has at least one game a year the next 3 seasons, that surely overlaps with the 2 games a season at spurs from 2018 so 2018 will have 5 london games!?

My point is that US Fans and UK fans are not the same. Yes LA failed, but that doesn't mean that Goodell isn't desperate for the franchise move. For 49ers fans its "ok" for them to move to Santa Clara for me, it's unfathomable... Imagine doing that for a home game, imagine going out of Merseyside to watch Everton like Jets and Giants do... UK fans won't do it. They could barely sell out jags-bills match what chance is there for 8?
I love the NFL, but there is no doubt in my mind that it is a novelty, and fwiw, I struggled with two games which weren't the Jets, I'm sure I wouldn't travel all the way to London to watch the NFL every other week, it's just too much.
