OMG Burrs just traded their most of their draft to move up to take Turbinsky, who's main qualification is that he stands for the national anthem.
phone rings: "You're going to be a Bears QB."
(consults history)
conclusion: "Just kill me now."
I have a Leonard Fournette grin on my face. I don't know if the NFL is still the kind of league for that kind of back, but if he can catch and run (like a certain F. Taylor) with the rest of his RB package, our sorry excuse for an offense has to get better fast. Bortles has to be a happy campus.
I blame Cam Cameron for the element of doubt. Just on principle.
Fournette is awesome when he's not broken. Not a fan of the pick though. You take a RB high in the draft when its the final piece of your offense (Carolina taking say Cook, makes sense) because you don't your star RB to be washed up by the time you are finally good.
Good luck John Ross!
Good points, especially the "keep him healthy" part. I'm a little surprised, actually. The NFL of 2017 may not be exactly the NFL of 2016.
Right now, our heart belongs to Daddy. In TC we trust. I'd expect lots of attention paid to the OL from TC, but the cupboard looks kind of bare this year.
I hope Fournette does your boys good. He has some kind of talent, but not all talent translates to next level talent.
That kid has some feet!
Thanks. Only time will tell. This "sucking each and every year" thing gets old.
I saw Fournette just gash a good Gator defense in G'ville in 2014, and the first thing I said was "this guy will play somewhere on Sunday". Looks like I'll see a lot more of him.
Saints are on the clock.
Lattimore. No-brainer for their needs. He'll have to help.
Although we need help on the O-line and also an end to play opposite Dunlap, I'm beginning to like this pick. It all hinges on the injuries IMHO: if he doesn't break down, we should have a guy that either profits from AJ getting double/triple teamed every down, or draws enough attention that AJ sees the occasional single coverage. We have the ninth pick in the second round to sweep up a decent edge rusher (deep position this year) but I'd also like to see us put a package together to move up a bit in the third round. We've got two picks in each round from the fourth to the seventh, so there must be some scope.Good luck John Ross!
