What team would you liken the most to Everton? I'm looking for an underdog team
Philadelphia Eagles! I have been following them for 3 years now and so far its been a bit of a let down which seems to be their whole history. Excited about this season though.

The Bengals make the playoffs every year lose in the playoffs every year in 1st round (they have lost the last 6? in the 1st round though missed on the playoffs last year because injuries) even when the Bengals are the vastly superior team. The Bengals also always lose to the team the fanbase hates the most, the Steelers. As an added bonus they also lost to the Steelers a couple time in the playoffs, in both halarious fashion and with their star QB getting his leg shattered by said steelers. Also on Bengal home games against the Steelers 1/2 the fans at the game are Steeler fans.

As a Viking fan you will inevitably get your hopes and expectations raised at which point the Vikings will then devour your soul.

Kansas City is a more competent version of the above 2 teams and Andy Reid is a good coach who somehow has no idea what the hell he is doing in the last 5 minutes of every single game. As a NFL neophyte you may not understand clock management but my god you will immediately understand clock mismanagement. They will lose every single playoff game due to inexplictable head scratching moves in which Andy Reid runs out the clock on himself. You will curse god and hate your coach with a fury unknown to man. Only you will never fire Andy Reid because as I said before, Andy Reid is a good coach and will take your team to 11-5.
All good shouts these. However, perhaps I'm biased, but the Bengals have to be the least likeable team in the NFL, Patriots included - a far cry from our beloved Blues. They are consistently the team with the most felons, and nitwits like Burfict and Pac Man don't help. Marvin Lewis has no control of the asylum, and their owner is a joke.

But all-in I might have to say KC is the most similar, rabid fanbase that always support their team through thick and thin. Wear red though, probably not something you should do.

Follow the Chiefs, they will frustrate you after slowly giving you false hope.

The problem with the NFL is that with a player move or injury, or a coaching change, a terrible team can become decent overnight. True mediocrity comes from poor ownership, but the decent owners all have a chance, and some of today's dumpster fires could be really good in a few years.

But if you want bad owners, pick 49ers or Redskins.

Ultimate Martyball. The NFL version of the Moyes era.

But, there's just so much red. Knowledgeable fan base, great past moments, part of the foundation of the (AFL) league...

I'd say Chiefs. Don't get distracted by the Colts in their Everton NFL kit. They are dead to us after having left Baltimore.

It's not the same, Mezz, even though it is too much red. But the "Sea of Red" is something, the support is one of the best in the NFL, and midwestern folk are genuinely nice people, unique and sincerely American, the sort that any Brit should enjoy meeting (maybe not quite as interesting as the events unfolding for Kris Marshall in Love, Actually, but still top folk). No shame in anyone here supporting the Chiefs. And as a bonus, maybe if you went to a game you could get lucky with JD.

Decided to follow NFL this year but need to pick a team to follow.

Which team will break my heart every year like Everton? X

100% the Bengals.

Is their an NFL fantasy league on this forum at all? Looking o join one if there is.

As an Eagles fan i'm looking forward to the new season. Have had a decent summer so far.

Anyone supporting the Jets is in for a hard time.

Aye, last two years we've had a league going. Suppose this may the best time to ask if anyone wants it to be run again.

Hmmm decisions decisions... thanks for the suggestions:

Bengals
Vikings
Kansas
Eagles
Chiefs
Lions

Now to narrow them down ...

Grim that, though as noted the Chiefs are Kansas City, and would say the best of that list.

Vikings are permanent heartbreak.
Eagles are permanent heartbreak only with horrible fans... ffs they actually put a cell in the stadium and had a judge working games.
Lions also moribund, proud owners of an 0-16 season
Bengals have better now, but outside a few SB trips in the 80s have largely sucked and seem ok bringing in criminals.

KC has history, good fans and awesome BBQ.
