NHL

The Islanders really seem lacking in energy, The Hurricanes looking good and could go far this year, bone crunching hits and some outrageous goalie saves, nothing beats Playoff hockey....

I'm a Lightning fan (grew up there) now living near Dallas. Looking very bad for both of them. The Islanders can do one.

The Bruins have just beaten the Leafs 3-1 at Maple Leafs Gardens tonight.

They lead the series 3-1 now. Toronto are on the verge of crapping the bed yet again in a playoff series!

Leafs are some massive bottlers. They have to sack the lot of them and try again.
I have to admit even though i'm a Habs fan, i have a small bit of sympathy for the Leafs.

Good enough to consistently make the playoffs, only to do nothing of relevance when they get there year after year.

The Leafs must be a soul destroying team to support for their poor long suffering fans!

Dunno why they even bother to participate the play-offs. On the other hand, after covid19, Ukraine and all the other uncertainties in this world it's nice to know there are some core values left and that last year for Leafs was just a hick-up in their steady series of post seasons performances. What bothers me a bit is that Marchand & the Bruins are looking a tad too good...

Living near Toronto as I do, it is amazing that every year the Leaf fans think that this year will be different. It is nearly 60 years since they won the Stanley Cup and haven't even come close since. Just accept it Leaf fans, you are never winning the Stanley Cup. Life will be easier that way. If you think being an Everton fan is hard, try being a Leafs fan.

There is an awesome documentary of legendary Harold Ballard around. Think Moshiri is as bad as it gets? Think again...

You need to keep the hope going though. Should we accept that Everton will never win anything again? No i don't think so.

They came close to playing us (Montreal Canadiens) in the final in 1993, but that's the closest the Leafs have been to playing in a Stanley Cup final since 1967.

TBH I kinda was on their side back then, mainly b/c of Wendel Clark & Dougie Gilmore. And Baumgartner. Their 21st post-season match was too much for them (and that non-call on gm7 overtime on Gretzky by Fraser). I remember watching that game in our summer house and being glad it was only Gretzky, Kurri & Sandström the Habs were facing...

What I noticed from the first two games was Heiskanen's "uncertainties". Looks a bit like he's playing with injury. This series can go either way, proper "crash the net"-hockey.

That third period looked like someone caught in a flash flood who's grabbed on to a tree branch so they don't get swept away. Hintz might be another injury worry, he took a huge shot off his skate right before he scored the empty netter.
