NHL

Some backstory on this Rangers game. These two teams played a couple nights ago and Tom Wilson of the Capitals, probably the last truly dirty player left in the league, hit a helmetless player and knocked him out for the rest of the season. It was one of New York’s star players, too. The NHL gave out a laughably weak punishment and the entire Rangers club was like no, we’re not having that. They called on the person who gave out the punishment to be fired and promised they would take matters into their own hands.

I'm surprised it was just three going at it, if that's the case...

I've not paid close attention, but seems to be universal dislike for Wilson/what he did...

Like, yes there is hitting in hockey and yes there are fights, but there’s a kind of honor to it and everyone more or less knows where the line is. Tom Wilson crosses it constantly and doesn’t care. He’s been suspended five times for bad hits in his career and it should have been six.

On another note, I see the Lightning have ended Dallas’s season for the second year in a row. I felt like the Stars’ run last season was not likely to happen again because they were old and couldn’t score enough goals and I was spot on. This time they won’t even make the playoffs.

We were missing Seguin for most of the season and Bishop for all of it and then covid wrecking the schedule didn't help, but it never seemed like it was going to be. On to next year.

Just watched that footage. Total breech of conduct, even the unwritten conduct as you alluded to.
