Ignorance and bigotry. Text book.

I just believe that a relatively new religion to the western world should adapt to our way of life not the other way around.

I'm so not progressive mate I soz.
For the most part it is though. It's by no means a perfect transition of course, but the western world should do what it can to smooth the way. That means some concessions will have to be made. But nobody is bending over backwards.

As do I. Absolutely. In fact, I found the Muslim Brotherhood's recent incursions into the UK with the aim of Islam conquering as a philosophy as disgusting.

But here's the thing Nik - not every Muslim is part of the Muslim Brotherhood or an extremist. In fact, the vast, vast majority aren't. That's why it's news - becauses it's new, against the norm etc.

So when you say a "religion should adapt", you should qualify that statement with "the rogue elements of that religion should adapt in a harmonious manner to the values of the western world" - that then acknowledges that at least you understand that not EVERY Muslim wants to take over Blighty. Painting every single Muslim with the same brush IS bigoted and ignorant whether you like the phrase or not.

But it isn't 'relatively new' is it? The concept of monotheism goes back thousands of years, it is the same product as judaism or christianity, it has more in common than different with the other two.
Your thinking belongs with the Borg, assimilate or die, and that is Nazism. If that is your belief, I'm fi e with that, you are perfectly entitled to hold your opinion, but if a greater force compelled you to adopt their beliefs would you consider it the same?
Every ism competes for souls, from religion to capitalism to socialism. Some do it using inclusivity, some with fear and scapegoats.

The biggest misnomer is the "British way of life". This has changed constantly since people first settled here, solely due to immigration and development. The "British way of life" is a hybrid dating back millennia. Without our heritage of immigration, we would be the people we are today.

And there's always been the same level of resistance. "If you want a n-word for a neighbour, vote Liberal or Labour" etc. etc.

As said above, it's a two-way street that is already happening. It's absolutely insane to suggest that people migrating here shouldn't retain their cultural heritage to a degree. It's like saying an English bloke going abroad would be banned from eating egg and chips!

You're all laughing at Nik now but sooner or later you'll find some Bulgarian lad in bed with your missus or mum smashing it to bits while reciting verses from the Quran.

But it will be too late to change your mind then lads. Too late.

I see people constantly misrepresent what Nik says and constantly try and paint Farage in a light he's never painted himself in.

Then they scream ignorance and lack of understanding.

Amusing

Not misrepresenting a thing; it's all there in black and white. He's seemingly unable to distinguish between extremist Islam and general Islam; between the minority who want to impose Islamic values on western society and the majority who live peacefully in this country, keeping their values privately but adapting to our society publicly. There's two posts on the previous page alone which show as much. You can only go on what he types.

Lolz. I'm the only person in England who thinks open immigration from poor Eastern countries is harmful to our society, especially the working class.

The only one! Or maybe one of 3 you know the others being nick griffin and tommy Robinson right lolololol

Here's a surprise - on the point of immigration today being harmful to the working class I agree with you.

I can argue that immigration is a capitalist ploy to bring down the cost of labour by means of increased competition.

I've been a socialist all my life, but I don't subscribe to the internationalism of socialism when in this case, immigration is used to exploit the indigenous working class workforce.

On a global scale socialists should argue against the exploitation of the workforce by any means, including the use of immigration to reduce labour and wage costs.

ne

It has drifted a bit. Groucho must be still reading his "appreciation" thread.

I think it has gone a bit like this.

1. EU debate. Yay or Nay
2. Free movement of labour a key EU issue for some.
3. Is unchecked immigration really a great idea
4. Is saying unchecked/badly controlled immigration of non EU citizens a good thing
5. Are you a badun for saying it is.

I think.
