Well Carlo has been quite clear about Nkounkou this week , no disciplinary issues , just prefers him to get more experience:
“ "There's no doubt about his professionalism.

"He is really focused in training, he's going to play but in this moment I prefer more experienced players."

The danger with all our young players is we see their exciting bits, forgive their mistakes cos of their age and then compare them with older players who frustrate the hell out of us. I guess we have to accept Carlo’s methods are based upon what he sees in training and what he wants. I’m not sure of his “ I’m not here to develop players .” line though. Somebody has to develop them though , this is a 20 year old kid , too good for the u23s not yet a regular first team squad member hopefully somebody has a plan for him.

Send him to Leipzig, look after him there :D

In Germany they don’t care about your age or experience

If you are good enough you start

The likes of Dortmund and Bayern have been doing it for years

Look at Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho, Haaland, Alphonso Davies
Pretty sure they'd be starting for us too. The key part of your post is 'if you are good enough'. Wayne Rooney was good enough when he was 16, Leon Osman wasn't good enough until he was 23. Our rush to hail every half decent young player as the saviour of the club is pathetic.

The other part of this, which is important to mention is Germany is a league whereby the penalties for relegation are not as punitive.

Silva played the youngest team in the league in his tenure here, and nobody really thanked him for it. Ancelotti knows he primarily has to get results.

I must admit my view of Silva is different from yours, from memory we had a long gap between Beningime’s debut ( Koeman/ Unsworth ?) through to Gordon’s ( Carlo) in respect of Academy products being given their chance. I don’t recall Silva taking a chance on any youngsters being touted at the time like Dowell, Robinson , Gibson etc or even talking them up as prospects. At least Carlo has given PL debuts to Gordon, Branthwaite and Nkounkou.

I think the debuts thing is a harsh criteria to use. Only Gordon has been given a debut in the 12 months since Silva left, so it's hardly like a load of players were banging down the door making themselves impossible to ignore. Dowell and Gibson were ignored by managers both before and after Silva, and no PL club wanted to buy Dowell when he was available for a pittance. The logical thing to believe is that they weren't good enough to be picked. Unfortunately many people choose to believe the illogical thing, that they were good enough and were just ignored for some reason.

The misconception in this is that playing young players makes you more likely to get relegated.
