Look at the last month and judge it on form.
You're incapable of doing so as you're agenda driven against the guy, but there's no way you can make an argument for Lukaku to be ahead of Jelavic on form alone over the last month, and that's all that matters to me.
Also, these "9 months since a goal" etc. are skewed by the fact he's barely started a game since last season. We're playing an entirely new system with a new manager now.
Here are the facts:
* Lukaku has failed to impress over the last month.
* Jelavic has looked lively off the bench and could have had one or two goals lately.
* Jelavic takes two goals on a start. It doesn't matter what the opposition is, he's took his chance and scored two goals in 90 minutes of football.
Those saying Jelavic doesn't deserve at least a chance in the first team are hating on the guy for the sake of not wanting to be wrong rather than using common sense IMO.
The irony of people pointing to Lukaku's form in November to justify his start yet ignoring his more recent form is amazing. In fact, it's just as amazing as people completely ignoring what Jelavic has done lately and talking exclusively about a year ago.
Pfft
Start him against Norwich. If he scores then all of sudden he might believe in himself and stsrt scoring for fun again.
Who knows, he might even stay onside ?
If he reverts to being gash then we bring a fresh Lukaku off the bench.
Jelavic has played 379 minutes of Prem football this season, he's scored zero goals. In his last 180 minutes of Premier League football Lukaku has scored 1 goal.
Who is in form ?
Lukaku has been out of form for what, 4 games Jelavic has been out of form for what, 35? he hasnt scored against premier league opposition in nearly a year. QPR were awful and the weakest team to come to goodison this year. Stop being irrational.

There was one today where Barkley broke through their midfield. Jelavic put his head down and charged towards the corner flag, straying 5 yards offside in the process, before moaning at Barkley when he didn't pass.
Sigh.
Let's look at the last 180 minutes of football for both players, as that's a fair comparison point isn't it?
I could say "Andy Johnson scored 10 goals in 2006, Lukaku has scored 1 in the last 60 minutes - who is in form?" - it wouldn't make any sense, but that's basically what you're doing!
Gonna have to side with Tubes here. He's just had a good game yet no one seems to want to credit him for a job well done. Baffling...
Start him against Norwich and replace him with Rom if he isn't doing the business. No harm surely?
No it's not, at all.
He's scored 2 goals against a second string Championship side. Other than that he's scored zero goals in all of his football this year.
You act like he's not had a chance under Martinez, he's started five games and been subbed on against tired defences multiple times on top of that. Scored zero.
