I agree that Silva wasn't convinced and it probably came down to a straight choice between him and Dowell as to who would be back up to Siggy. Plus there is also Bernard and Lookman to factor in who can both do a job there.
But I also believe Silva to be a pragmatic man and he'll know that both players are still only 20. I'm sure he'll 100% know what Vlasic is doing in Russia and in the CL, I'm certain he'll want to take another look at him in the summer and, if he wants to keep him, he will. Brands and Silva have shown with Lookman that they won't be dictated to by our youngsters.

Its a no brainer for me. As you say we would not miss either one and that sort of figure could get us in a quality centre forward or a Lozano/Malcolm to rotate with Walcott on the right.
Then sell the likes of Bolasie, Besic, Mirallas, Niasse, Tosun etc. And use the funds towards permanent deals for Zouma and Gomes.

I get that mate, Having quality as backup. Lookman is at least here, and available to play. The other lad isnt. If the stories about his wages are true, and a decent price could be got, would have no problem with him moving.
...I recall Silva saying recently that age doesn’t matter to him, as long as they are good enough they’ll get game time. Good point about Dowell possibly being ahead of Vlasic in the queue.
It does look like (finally) we have a playing model that will be supported by a transfer strategy. Time will tell whether a new name might even come in to leapfrog Dowell and Vlasic.
I never understand why this has to be the manager got it wrong, player demanded to leave.
Maybe the two of them sat down and said, listen it’s going to be hard to get games this year, but we both want to keep you developing as a player, does a loan fit? Let’s reassess next season and they both agreed amicably.
Clearly it’s the right decision.

I'd still bet on lozano arriving mate. Gomes on a permanent deal and the forward thinking positions are pretty much sorted.
Jumped up lil rat thinks hes bigger than he is, he will do nothing but run his mouth for next 6 months till he gets his move to a "bigger" club, when he will stink the place out for 6 months till hes sold to Leeds in 18months after they get relegated back to The Championship.
As ive said, this lad will never play for us again, very bad attitude with a mouth bigger than his talent.

If siggy was out then certain Bernard would move centrally to cover mate, lookman on on the wing etc
As for this lad, seen him a few times, and with the space in this league he looks very good, but dowell would too over here, and someone like Bernard tore up this type of league, lookman similarly would do
