Non League Football

Now they’ve broken their duck, and finally got out of the NPL (at the 4th attempt), they should be able to push on.

The problem with SS is that they were full time, amongst a side of Part time teams and still struggled to a degree. Going into the National League North, and with their budget (think AFC Fylde), they should be knocking on playoff places, especially with the top 7 making it.

I think the National League is a completely different monster, and their budget won’t be as good there and may not have it their own way there.

Was a good day out though, not sure their gates are what they’re claiming mind!

The standard in the National League is League 2 in all but name.

Virtually every team in there, has at least been in League 2 at some point and a few even higher.

It`s full of ex higher league pro`s too, who may have lost a bit of pace, but are still very good players at this level.

I was just reading, that Wrexham are trying to convince Bale to come out of retirement and play for them next season.

I can`t see it myself, as why would he want to be playing twice a week and getting lumps kicked out of him, when he has more money than he knows what to do with !

I think it was tongue in cheek by McElhenney the request, but would be ridiculous if they actually pulled it off!

As for the standard, absolutely.
It’s more or less League Three nowadays. It’s why I’d favour a realignment and have a north and south again for me. Have it twenty aside.

The money they operate on nowadays, Southport under Hodkinson we’re operating at nearly £1m a year and that was in the 7th tier.

The expense nowadays is insane.

Last game of a poor season at Park view road (Welling) last night. The wage bill is apparently the highest in the clubs history but lower mid table was the result.
Good win to sign off with against Hampton though.

I’m on the way to Chester v Buxton , Chester are guaranteed a playoff place but it’s a bit congested below them

I fancied going to Halesowen Town iirc is @Littlesue territory but they sold out as have Warrington Town for Monday’s game.

If I had know you wanted to come I could have got you a ticket in week , I wish I was going but last Baggies home match so chose there, obviously I've gone mad 😆, tempted to get season ticket for Halesowen next season instead of West Brom!

Congrats to Halesowen getting promoted, 1 0 down in 91st minute but equalised and then got winner in extra time

Chesterfield 1 up v Notts County. Just seen the penalty, player was fouledby the keeper, just got up and tried to score, no theatrics. So good to see and none if the play acting we see in the prem.

Went to Flint Town v Lower Breck 1st July for my first game this season , Prescot Cables v Holywell was called off at halftime last Saturday due to a monsoon. I’d like to get to Bury v Glossop on the 29th for Bury’s first game back in the NWCFL but it’s a potential rail strike day.
